Hey whatever it takes to keep it from the scrappers!!!!!!! Very nice job on the cammo pattern I will say, it looks very professional, though definately not the norm army approved paint scheme, lol. MERDC used to depend on what region the truck was operating in, is this one for Beverly Hills...
I have also been fighting my city on my MV hobby. I have nice running trucks that are licensed, but they don't want my kind around I guess. I'm some pretty bad riff raff, National Guard soldier who donates his time to the Veterans groups and hauls them in parades. God forbid there are more of...
Yeah I hear you bud. I also picked up 2 deuces today, but overpaid way too much. They are cherry trucks, but I got pissed at the guy who was sniping and kept extending the auction. He drove them up $1500 in the course of 10 minutes. I sure miss the old days where if you didn't bid in time you...
The double mount between the gauge and glovebox is the standard that I have seen in the NG. Anytime I see an old deuce with rifle mount it is mounted there. I know they could go almost anywhere, but for the M16/M14 rack that is about the best place next to behind the seats in the corner of the...
Yup, on the engine it says that this vehicle has been exempted from EPA standards. I'm not 100% sure what all has to change on the HMMWV to make it "street legal", but that is part of the reason the gov quit selling hummers through surplus. They don't want people to have them and they don't...
You need to get ahold of Pilot, he is in devils lake. He is also in the loop on the ND MV clubs. Welcome to the family. If you need any deuce stuff or advice, feel free to contact me.
Oh so many memories of Ft Lost in the Woods. I spend most of my daypass time there going to the Engineer Museum. They have a great selection of vehicles and equipment there.
Not a problem, just let me know if you need anything else. Hopefully soon my next order will come in so I can get them out to the other guys that have been waiting patiently.
Yup, it's a oil sampling valve for AOAP or Army Oil Anaylsis Program. It isn't just used for telling you when to change your oil. Our results detect antifreeze(cracked block ect) Copper(bad bearings), fuel(bad rings) and all other things that are going wrong inside the motor. It is actually a...
I was going to ask you David about the cover of that magazine. The commander of the 62nd LC in Vietnam is a personal friend of mine who lives 30 miles away. In fact I took my deuce down for the 2008 Vietnam Landclearers Association reuinion to do trail rides. I got tons of great rome plow...
These units are pure junk. In SD alone we lost about 4 due to the rear diff housing cracking wide open(aluminum). I just finished replacing our rear diff at the shop after it split apart also. All we use ours for is driving around the motor pool to get trucks, ect. The NG is not impressed...
I have a couple of good take off ones for $100 and another unit for $75 that needs the endbells replaced(I will include). Let me know if you are interested.
