My Bobbed Deuce wanders on roads with any uneven pavement. I'm running 16.00-20 XL's.
I just haven't gotten around to putting more toe-in in it, but that's most likely your problem.
I've been to 65 mph on the highway without much issue. (white knuckled and rear cheeks squeezed tight though).
I know I've got stuff to pick up, but apparently I've got stuff to sell (so my wife tells me).
FOR SALE:
24v to 12v DC-DC power converters (a bunch)
Deuce Cargo tops - will inventory this week (5-6)
Towbars - medium - 4
Deuce rear bows - lots
Hummer rear bows - lots
6.2 engines in cans - 3
10kw...
I really like the idea of the power switch lock out. No power, no start.
With all due respect, the engine stop lock out can be bypassed in about 30 seconds. On one of the Deuces I picked up at Ft. Meade, the cable was frozen stuck. Turned the 2 latches on the left side engine cover and cut...
I've had mine in VA for 10 years or so. Other than the obvious reason to have a CWP, it allows you to take less cr$* when you are transporting firearms for other legitimate reasons.
Case in point - I was driving home from the sporting clays range and got stopped in a routine roadblock license...
Robyn-
Thank you for the prompt reply. I will contact Customer service at GL on Monday and ask for my refund. That being said, you may want to notify all VA buyers that they are entitled to a refund if they subsequently registered their GL purchased motor vehicle in VA?
No matter where a...
Bruce-
$350 for the towbar? was that a typo?
I called the trucker in Chambersburg about my Deuce in Annville - $895. :cookoo:
Its only 130 miles.
Maddawg308 - I'm just down in Chantilly, come pick one up! And yes, I'm going to Aberdeen - I think, maybe, if the boss lets me. No, wait - I have to go and pick up a trans Gimpyrob is bringing for me.
OK, I have to jump in here about the sales tax thing and the Ft. Meade thing.
Robyn - I can appreciate your defense of GL and that GL has been audited by a number of states and that everything is OK. That's fine. What I can also add through 1st hand experience and not through the "grapevine"...
Don't know if that's Monica L.?
So is this thread now NOT worthless because there is a pic?
DROPADEUCE - I'm really sorry about hijacking the thread - I just couldn't help posting that picture. Please post some pictures of your Deuce. Where in MD are you? I'm in Fairfax, VA and spent 3...
I've been planning on doing that exact thing. Heed to figure a way to get some matching wheels and the 16 - 20's shouldn't be a problem.
Since it's a bobbed truck, should I bob the trailer? Or maybe just use an M332?
The raised truck and trailer would be cool for parades and displays.
Kinda makes sense.
The Chambersburg site is unsecured (open base), the lot is a gravel mudhole, Mechanicsburg is just up the road, and the lot also serves working military vehicles.
The Ft. Meade site is secure, has a large paved lot and permanent building to work from, is geographically...
