K30 is correct. The 208 transfer cases in civilian vehicles only came in the trucks ordered with the heaviest GVW package you could order (don't remember the # of pounds exactly).
As to the towbars, what is considered cheap, fair or expensive?
I must be getting lucky on who's processing my EUC's. I've had to do 2 revisions on 12 EUC submissions in the last year. None have taken more than 3 weeks from submission to approval.
I think it's in the details. Communicate promptly and respectfully until you get your questions answered...
Don't think I can make it, but someone asked about a generator? I've got a 19HP 10kw "portable". You're welcome to use if someone wants to pick it up in Chantilly or Clifton, VA.
Mike, it's late but can you get me a 2X shirt?
Have fun. Don
Ethan.... you're a creative guy. I don't believe that VA DMV or any state or local LE officer is gonna know what Walt the GL guy at Ft. Meade's signature looks like on a Temporary Travel Permit:?:
Try using your other hand.
It'll be important to put the largest diameter exhaust on that you can (most power). The camshafts are most likely different which will also affect power. Make sure you use pre '94 6.5 parts as the later ones are for electronic injected vehicles. Monitoring EGT's might be a good idea also.

I'm going to pick up 2 small lots in Richmond on Monday the 17th in the am. Got an exception to the no Monday pickup rule. If you confirm with Mike at the Richmond site I'll get it.
Hey Mike-
I was supposed to be up in Chambersburg today to help a guy I hired to pick up the 3 "Race Tow Tugs" I won on a sealed bid sale. Did you happen to see or meet the guy with the Ford Dually and gooseneck trailer?
They weren't able to tow out all 3 because the estimated weight was 2000...
Wade-
Thanks for putting up a link to the code. I've read it all too often.
As it says in the heading, "antique motor vehicle or antique trailer excepted." Read that to mean not required.
It also says "The Superintendent (of the State Police) may compel...." I read that to mean that only the...
OK, all states are different and everyone has an opinion (and we know all about opinions :? )
I will offer one... I am not LE, but I am licensed by the Virginia State Police as a Virginia State Motor Vehicle Safety Inspector. I own a bobbed Deuce and it has Antique tags on it - perfectly...
I've got a couple of NMC Wollard tow tugs that will be for sale soon. Chrysler slant 6's and auto trans. Full cabs. Will be running when for sale - maybe painted also. Will post in classifieds.
I promised a buddy we'd have "Tug Races" first :D
I've got some internal tire plug/patches that would fill the 3/8" holes. They are about 4" diameter with about a 1/2" plug attached. They get glued in the inside of the tire and the plug goes thru the hole.
I feel a new project coming on
Bob a deuce, loose the front drive axle for a straight truck axle. Add a 14 bolt rear. Drop in a built 502ci Chevy block and allison trans. Straight pipes out the rear.
Chop the top 6", Weld wheels and street legal drag radials.
OOH the possibilities :!:
SF97's are not a problem and they are being issued at a pretty quick pace. My last 2 in Januaury took 8 business days each - even if I wasn't ready to go get the items.
Anyone got a trailer that can haul 3 tow tugs out of Chambersburg
Without being specific and getting flamed and booted - What's up with the HIGH prices on some of the GL auctions for 5 tons and wreckers that are now for sale?
$13k+ wrecker with 24 hours to go? :!:
$3900 5 ton with 24 hours to go?
Either there's no recession or the GL ads on here are...
