I am planning to build a Iraq/Afghanistan conflict Gun Truck tribute. The truck I am building will be of my own design. The truck will be up armored but with early Iraq conflict armor. The level of armor on MV in Iraq and Afghanistan went though many different stages. Since my truck is a M813 I...
I received my shocks in the mail recently. I want the thank 3Dangus for hooking me up with the shocks I needed. I think that they will work perfect. The shocks have 11 1/2 inches of travel. I believe they are for a HEMMT originally. I have some shock mounts off a Western Star semi for the top...
I am going to try to use the 1 1/2 thick bridge truck rear tire spacers. I fellow member hooked me up with two spacers, ten longer left studs and ten longer right studs. I will post pictures soon. :D
I am not sure if I mentioned this but 1600's on 5 ton two piece combat rims, will rub on you steering arm on the drivers side and the hydraulic piston cover on the passengers side. Some people adjust the stops out to prevent this, others use HEMMT rims on the front. HEMMT rims have a 1 1/2 less...
I am willing to take the M813 out for coffee if anyone is interested. I just drove down to Ct. To meet up with some MV buddies. We met up for breakfast at the Olympia Diner in Merden CT. Here is a picture of Dave's 5ton w/w, 1600's, and M66 gun ring. My Marine Corp buddy Brad's M35a2 W/w...
In my view anything north of Boston is New Hampshire. anything south of 495 is Rhode Island and anything west of Worcester is Ohio! But your map is pretty close!:-P
I must be confused about the difference between a bead lock and a run flat. Pictures would help clarify the mix up. I was under the impression that run flats were steel inserts with rubber around it, Like a little wheel inside the tire?
I used the bead locks from my 1400's on my 1600's. It was...
mounting these tires is no small feat! Each one is like a wrestling match with a Sumo Wrestler. Welcome to the 1600's club. Two more and you will be a full badged member!
New International trucks are pure crap! They are truly 13 letter sh*t spreaders now! Good luck getting into the cab when those gas tank strap steps get ripped off. They can handle life on civilian trucks. I wonder if they have Internationals great electronic air-ride seat?
So people run two HEMMT rims on the front to space the wheels out, but the rest are stock five ton rims or two piece combat wheels. I am keeping all my tires the same so I can rotate them.
