I sandblasted the ring and the groove it goes in on the rim. It really cleaned it up nicely and my rings lock in great. A little tip for you guys. I used a punch to place a mark in the rim where the split of the ring goes along with using my number punches to assign each rim and ring a...
I think the bows you have are for an m135 or the early m34 series trucks, they have a slightly narrower bed than the M211/ M35 series trucks. Has anyone simply tried getting lumber from the local lumberyard and making your own?? All they are is bowed lumber.
Recovry4x4 is right. I'm redoing my M211 and I just started to take off my brake and vent lines to inspect them. My middle rear axle vent line was completely plugged. I mean the entire 1/2 line was plugged solid. If they are plugged and your differentials can't breathe then the pressure...
Tony,
How much were the inner and outer seals for your deuce? What is the other souce for the seals? I might also be interested in the relined brake shoes. Thanks for the help guys.
The holes in the front bumper are factory for the G749 series trucks. They are called lightening holes to reduce the weight of the truck. I know, the little bit of metal missing isn't really gonna make a huge difference to something that weights over 12,000 lbs, but I guess they figured every...
I can definately relate to your problem too. I was also in the "engagement" phase of a really great relationship. She also thought my trucks were cool and neat, and she actually helped me with it a bit. Unfortunately she got to college and needed to have her freedom or she would miss out in...
I was wondering if any of you guys have current NAPA part numbers for the M211/M135? I have ORD 9 that tells me all the military and manufactures part numbers. I just started to tear into my trucks brakes and will need wheel seals and probably wheel bearings if they are bad. Some of the parts...
I am looking at getting a deuce though GL soon and was wondering what I all have to go though with paperwork? They say that no SF97 is given or title. What is the SF97 and how does that hurt me? What is an EUC? I've always bid on gsaauctions and they were nice to deal with, but i've heard...
I own both the M211 and the M135. Yes the are the same truck with the obvious exception of the M211 being like the M35 with the flat cargo bed and the M135 has the wheel well in the bed for the taller 11.00x20 tires. I like both trucks as they are built very heavy and can take a lot. They...
I would be interested in the other beds troop seats, corners, and bows. I have been trying to find them for my M135 for a long time and was just going to modify a set of M35s to fit the bed. Let me know more about the other bed. Thanks.
I'm looking at finally getting my first multifuel deuce in the form of an M109a3 shop van. I was wondering if anybody had some technical specs for them. I need to know how tall the truck is to its highest point, length, weight. I'm sure it's close to the M35a2 on length and weight, but I...
I have about half of my M211 painted and am getting ready to paint the rest and I was just wondering how you guys mix your paint. I started out by stripping the old paint off the truck down to the first layers, then I sand it all, scuff it up, wash it down to remove the dust and stripper...
I'm sure I know the answer to this, but can these be bought over there and imported back into the country (USA). I'm sure the shipping would be a lot, but there are some really nice and rare trucks over there just going to rust. Really makes me mad to see such waste, even if someday they might...
Tony,
I live in SE SD and Rapid is about 300mi west of me. I am working on getting some pics of the deuce to show. All I have so far is a slew of parts painted and my rear end of the deuce. But slowly she is coming together with the weekends I have to work on her.
Jason,
I'm in Scotland, only 32 miles away. I drive there everyday for work. Didn't even know there was another OD nut around these parts. I have about 20 tires I would like to sell, let me know what you are looking for. Most are 80% and better, but I have a few nice 60% ones too. Would...
Hot rod deuce, I have some parts that you might be interested in buying for your gas 5 ton. I have some engine gaskets, I think a spare carb, some shock absorbers and maybe a few others. All are NOS that I got on an auction and would like them to go to a good home. Email me if interested in...
