Gimpy,
Very, very true. I'll stick with what I've been told by those who should know, and have them write it down when required. N1265, I agree, when I asked 3 different BMVs, I got 3 widely different answers.
I would imagine it depends on condition, but a good one is likely some where around grounded numbers from what I've seen. I bought one a few weeks back, that I have yet to see, and it went just north of 2K, but we'll see what condition it's in when I do the recovery.
Gimpy,
The weight limit thing confuses me the most honestly, here's the exceptions to the normal circumstances requiring Ohio's CDL:
A "Farm Truck"; ("Farm Truck" means a truck controlled and operated by a farmer for use in the transportation to or from a farm, for a distance of no more...
No issue here so are, historic tags on the rear of the vehicle above on the flap. Ohio's code seems extremely confusing to me in regards to heavy vehicles. It seems that the CDL exceptions pretty much allow no CDL as longs as it isn't used for commercial applications, or transporting large >15...
SCSG,
How do you get your car in and out of the back? I would like to be able to do this with one of our small cars as well, but haven't been able to figure out a practical way to do it!
Without breaking a sweat.... hahahhah
A Deuce in general breaks a sweat moving it's ownself. If you E350 seems slow, then a Deuce will be a whole different kind of slow. I've had around a ton or so in the back of the M109, a good load of cinder blocks, and it didn't feel any different...

I'm pumped, anyone know when the load out at Drexel? I called the site manager, but I'm sure he's gone for the day.
I need to IR mine sometime, I know my diffs and hubs are warm to the touch, not on fire, but I think around 130F, which is one of the reasons they are getting greased this coming week. The T-case I've never felt though, but I bet it does get warm!
Where did you find the step by step? I used the TM last time, but I'm thinking it should be easier. Is there still some wonderful part of this site I have yet to discover?
Didn't I see some pictures of a crushed plastic tricycle or some such thing on here awhile back Gimpy?
My wife said it best, a new Deuce is like a new bride, when they are new to you, you take your time, do everything your suppose to do, and make sure it's ready to go. :-D
I'm new to this, but I'm still doing the complete walk around each time. I only drive it once or so a week, and I love mechanical things, so each check is just an investigation of how everything is doing again.
I've always thought the design is poor at best. Given the importance of making sure there is brake fluid in the MC, you would think it would be at least visble from the outside without disassembly. Someone once mentioned that they had ran a rubber hose from the bleeder to a seperate tank that...
Bulldog, that 5-ton looks awesome! Is there anything complex to this process? I'm guessing you just mask off everything that shouldn't be painted and then go to it, correct? I have a 5 ton coming that will need paint, and I think I'll leave it flat green for now.
I won a M814 and a M105 trailer out of Drexel on 6/25/09.
I submitted my EUC on the 26th, notified that I screwed it up on the 27th, make the changes and it was sent to Battlecreek on the 29th!!
At this rate I won't have all my parts in place for the recocery! :!:
I should have gimpyrobb, I'll make a point of it next time, we were in a hurry for our social event.
The hubs weren't as hot as the front tires, the front hubs were nice and cool, just the rear ones were a bit warm. I think I'll just change all the rear diff lubes, repack the bearings and...
