C&C, thanks, any parts you might have would be very helpful at this point. The central support bracket worries me, but I'll tear into that on Saturday. Off to San Fransisco for two days for work.
There were quite a few nice looking trucks up there, got to keep an eye on those auctions I...
I poked around a bit, looks like they are referred to as the 1710 series, good to know that there might be other stuff out there!

I've always thought the 109A3 was rather short, and a third axle would have a hard time fitting anywhere. Surely you don't want to put even more in the back of it do you? As it is, on the highway they are rated for 10k, and that might be somewhat conservative from a axle load standpoint. Brakes...

So I loaded up the SUV over the past few days with all the needed items I could think of and what I had found suggested here for recovering a 5-ton. This was a M814 listed in Drexel, no start, so I assumed dead batteries and took along a pair.
Morning started out not too early, 6:30am from...
I'm off to recover mine at Drexel tomorrow morning. I think I've got everything needed loaded in the SUV. Would take the M109, but the only guy I could find to drive the trip with me probably shouldn't be trusted in something so large! :-D
