    Deuce heater options

Fuel fired heaters are available, there's a few on classifieds etc, pricing isn't too awful. -30F is cold though, we had a -25F day here in Ohio last year, and that was the coldest it's ever been in my lifetime I believe. I think the biggest issue with heating the Deuce is how porous most of...

    Deuce put to Work

So the new M35A2 was taken down to a friends farm yesterday to move a tractor that had died on them last year. They had tried to pull it out with a pickup, but no luck, so the Deuce was driven over before church and then we came back to their place for lunch and a bit of tractor pulling. :-D...

    Winter warm up

You can buy a radiator cover off ebay from C&C equipment for $35. It helps quite a bit in this regard I've found. The thermostat might not be too happy on your truck either and could be partially stuck open.

    Recovery disaster - Long

Hope it works out to be something not to awful in the end. It always worries me driving the trucks know that something could go amiss, but as you say, it's part of the adventure in away. I ran the M814 out to Columbus today to pickup some items at GL. Everything went fine this time, but you...

    Frankfort, KY Recovery 10-01-09

JCKnife, I'm up in Springfield, OH area, I'm over in Troy regularly at the VFW, as it's our teams home range. It was right at a 3 hour drive, but I love doing it! Nosliw, no issue at all, most that day appear to have been driven off base. The gate guard said it was a shame they were selling...

    Frankfort, KY Recovery 10-01-09

Well, the trip went wonderfully well. I left Ohio at 7am for Frankfort via I75 S. Besides a little traffic in Cincinatti, and an issue with the west bound ramp from I75 to I64 being closed, it was uneventful. We managed to beat the GL contact to the base by only a minute, and stood around with...

    2.5-ton vs. 5-ton

The 5-ton gets around 6 MPG, the Deuce around 10 MPG. If you have a source of waste motor oil, the Deuce multifuel is nice, as it can run on all kinds of things.

    2.5-ton vs. 5-ton

I own two Deuces and a 5-ton. The Deuce is nice, part are plentiful. The 5-ton however has power steering, which is really nice, has a much more powerful engine, with commercially available sources for parts. The 5-ton is available in a number of configurations that the Deuce normally isn't as...

front tire wear on the deuce

I've heard they go through them rather quickly. Mine were new as well, almost 6K on them now, and I think they will get rotated to the rear for awhile.

    Studebaker stamping plant photos

Wow, those are just sitting there in an abandon factory. Surely someone could make an offer on those and get them to market. There must be at least a 100 of the things.

    new M54 owner need help!!!

I'll let other's more knowledgable come in with the details, but the fact that it's an A1, with Mack is desireable, and that couple with it being a drop side makes it rare.
