    12v amp draw

How much of an amp draw does the 12v feed draw at max? IE. How much is the most current going through the wire from the front battery to the 12v connector with the glow plugs running on the same circuit? Also, if a component has a separate ground, ie. a ground wire and no ground through its'...

    speedometer questions

Is a speedometer form the 40's, 50's 60's etc, able to work in our trucks? Seems I remember some screwing onto the backs of the speedometers, and I've no clue about connecting to the transmission.

    STE ICE and Circuit board.

Had to remove my STE port today to mount some gauges there while updating my starter relay. I followed the wires and cut those that did not go anywhere other than the fire wall. The glow plug board was wired in with splices, and I cut those that went to the port and dead ended. Lastly, there...

    Fuse box que's???

Got a short somewhere Even without the front battery grounded I'm finding a short that traces to three different wires going into my firewall. Called it quiet's for the night at that. I think it sounds like the ignition switch and will try unplugging that first. What else would it be?

I had civy heads put on my vehicle when the o.e. ones cracked. Does it likely need the injector pump adjusted or anything.

    Compression glow plug removal?

4 of 8 glow plugs were swollen inside a week after they were installed. My mechanic was looking for a removal tool. I got sick of waiting and pulled them myself, sort of. Passenger side back two are stuck. One broke with the tip stuck in the hole. Will engine compression blow it out? How...

    Swollen plugs already.

Been in about a month. Went to pull one to see what the mechanic put in, and it hung up, tried the next, same. Now what? On an aside, was rolling around under it, cut out six inches of exhaust pipe on each side and installed flex pipe to allow the pipes to mate to the manifolds right. I've...

    "New Heads" Now issues.

It is longer to start. A lot longer when cold. Also, a lot of grey smoke, ?unburnt fuel, once started. I will swap out the mechanic supplied glow plugs for the Dura-Term ones I bought. Any other suggestions? History: This is the engine that over heated due to the Katz heater defective bolt...

    Finally got my 1008 back.

Complete engine I bought was seized, so the heads on it were used on my block. Got a little crankcase pressure now, but it runs good. Now I have an injector pump, injectors, water pump, fuel pump, exhaust manifolds, oil pump, timing gears, cam, lifters, and all that under foot. I'll likely put...

    "Pay it forward"

Can we have a "pay it forward" stcky for the CUCV's? It is where free stuff is offered, if you take something, you put something up of use to a cucv owner. You can list before you take something as well. Also a "I will trade my ____ for_____" sticky would be nice, though not as likely to happen.

    82 6.2L any good?

Were the early, 1982, 6.2l's an alright engine? Did they have known issues?

    Cracked the heads.

Well, it's official. Coolant rises when it's running and flows out, heat goes hot and cold. ****, looks like heads at least, or just as simple to swap in an engine. Transmission seems alright. Engine starts and runs good. Exhaust is clear once warm. Hate to do it, but gonna dump in some...

    A fuseable link photo map?

I'm sure I'll get lambasted for daring to ask... Can we get a photo "map" showing the locations, what it protects and ratings of the fuseable links in the engine bay?
