    All you alternator gurus'

I'm ready to replace my going bad alternator. It's number 1 that's going bad, as that light is lit, even though the 12volt is holding voltage thus far. What I'm wondering is if a regular alternator can be used for that side as that one grounds to the engine block anyhow? Then I could get the...

I put all the military noise filters into my inside power feeds, and grounded the firewall real well, but still have alternator "feedback", a high pitched noise, that gets louder as the engine revs higher, feeding through my stereo and coming out the speakers, how do I cure this? p.s. quite...

    stupid heater, stupid thermostat.

Put in a freeze plug heater. Sure wasn't no half hour fun job. It wouldn't budge, then fell inside the block. Then wouldn't come out. Dropped a big punch on my nose and bloodied it, anti-freeze all down my sleeves. Got - r - done, finally. Thermostat housing broke. The top bolt busted a...

    Mind the ground.

I installed the radio today, and every time I turned on the lights it would go all static. Decided to fool with the lights some and noticed they flickered with the static. Finally dawned on me. I ran a ground from the firewall to the negative of the front batt. and wala! So, to be safe, I...

    It Started!

Yeah! My bad, when I put the new battery clamps on, and then bolted the cables with the new lug ends to them, I put the star washer between the lugs and the clamps. Shows what you get hurrying to get to work. That was a serious "DUH" moment.

    Anyone have a key?

I'd like to try someones door key to see if it works in my 1009. I see some on ebay that look nothing like the one I had cut. It would save paying a locksmith to cut one that fits.

    Why still "water in fuel"

Did a bunch of filter changes, oil, cdr valve, and fuel. While the fuel filter was off, I wiped off, then brass brushed, the sensor. It still shows water in fuel. I also did a bunch of electrical work. I cleaned all the bus bar connections and dielectric greased them, and also the headlight...
