I was just explaining the TV cable adj as a baseline start off point. If the TV cable was not adjusted properly, or it had the wrong cable on it for 10K miles, the trans is more than likely toast or damaged, 10K miles on a HD rebuild or not. I spent nearly $1800 on rebuilding my trans. It was...
Nice job, You might want to get a Banks air filter housing for it, it's piped through the radiator support to the grill. Kinda like a ram air setup to feed the turbo with cold air. cold air=O2
Yea, I hear that about the ride, I have a flatbed on mine and the ride is still brutal. I don't think my rear springs do anything. The tires just kinda skip arround on the pavement, LOL! Gotta love the M1031 though, Thanks for the feedback.
I had the same problem with my trans. The starting point for the adjustment is with the cable pushed all the way back towards the firewall. Then open the throttle all the way to the floor as eric said above, you might hear a click, you might not. Thats the cable setting it self in the adjuster...
Nice job, and great pics. Do you loose spring rate with this setup? Not worried about loosing your helper springs? Im seriously considering doing this to my 1031, just the shackle flip, and then lower the helper spring pads. I've been folowing your build thread from the beginning, Great work!
NEW OIL, Like out of the NEW container. I've been servicing diesel engines for 30 yrs and have never heard of that in my life. Granted, New engines have a pre start pressurizing sys so pre filling is not required. Not servicing as per the PM will also void warrantys. Who does that? Give me a...
If it's your first ever diesel oil change make sure you fill the oil filter to the top with new oil. Very important to do this to avoid a damaging dry start condition.
Just got off line at harbor freight, 90 amp flux wire welder, SKU 68887 on sale $109. reg $140. Can't beat that for light duty work! You don't need an expensive Miller or Lincoln welder to do that kind of repair, They would cost thousands.
I have talked myself into selling a few vehicles in the past and regretted it. Ask 6K for it, That way you have some haggle room. If it's straight and clean, you'll get allmost that much for it. Check out some of the crap in the classifieds here going for 5K+, Your truck is well worth 6K.
