The information you need is in the Continental LDS-465-1 Trouble Shooting Manual which I believe is in the TM section. The injector nozzle testing is listed as page 25 in the table of contents, it acually starts on page 35 when you view as a PDF file.
RE: Beacons
MrAugust - If you can find what you want but cannot have it shipped to the UK, I would be glad to be your intermediary. Have it shipped here and I will ship to you by your preferred method. No cost to you than my actual cost to ship to you. I have both UPS and USPS accounts, I'm...
Interesting - a 3 piece camo cargo cover. First one I have seen. Is it vinyl or canvas? Or was it OD canvas you painted yourself to match the truck paint scheme?
If you need a low air pressure switch I'd say to start with Saturn Surplus. However, there is also an auxillary air outlet (for running power tools, air chuck, filling air mattresses etc.) in this same general area. I'd make sure you didn't accidentaly partially open this valve first. It is a...
If you are hitting 55mph at 1800 prm, there is something more gone askew than a fuel pump. According to most Deuce data plates ( and they do NOT all agree), you r max speed in 5th gear should be around 54 mph at around 2600 rpm. If I misinterperted what you said, and your problem is a lack of...
TXSG 19 - one full turn is a LOT more fuel. Better install a pre turbo pyrometer before you do much hard driving. Mine WAS a hard starter, I've gone up 1/2 turn, starts real sweet now, but even empty on a long steep hill I'm pushing 1150-1200F EGT. I'll probably back off 1/6th turn (one flat) to...
Sorry, I don't recall seeing you Chuck. Did you talk to me? I did talk to several SS members who recognized my truck from the Camo grille cover. I ran my grille cover all summer with no coolant temp problems. Now that winter is here (at least for our part of the state) I'm going to leave the...
PS - Removing the outer duals from the towed truck and putting them in the bed of the towing truck helps a lot also. Best done with a 2nd soldier to help, pretty hard to do by a single person unless you are a lot younger and stronger than me. A mounted Deuce tire and rim is a bunch of weight to...
Three very strong recommendations:
1. If you are going any significant distance, do the J-line mod as described above so you can activate the service brakes on the towed vehicle. It is real hard to quickly and safely stop TWO Deuces with only ONE Deuce applying the brakes.
2. POSITIVELY REMOVE...
Strange as it seems, my wife LIKES to drive the Deuce. I have even let her take it out for a few spins by herself, without me co-piloting. She just needs to figure out the "rhythm" to shifting it properly and she will be OK.
That was my thought exactly. Of course, if he DOES sell it at that price, he can get a decent replacement for 1/3 the selling price AND still have money in the bank! THEN he gets to say "look honey, what a great deal these big green trucks are! We should buy a couple more and end up on easy...
I could use one of those insulated camo cab covers. We already had 8" of snow this week. Even with the so called "personnel heater" on high, I still freeze my a** off if the temp gets below 40F or so. Any idea of where to locate a REASONABLY priced 3 color camo insulated cab cover? All I have...
Chuck-
No, you don't need to say anymore. You've probably seen 100 times the stuff I've ever imagined there could be.
Hey, just noticed the grille cover on you Deuce! Is that a new addition? As you can see from my Avatar, I used Krylon camo spray paint to make mine blend in better.
It is definately nice, but I agree with Chuck. This guy is on something illegal. M813s in cherry condition do not go for that kind of money. Whatever he is smoking or toking, I want a pound of it! (My apologies to Chuck for the last comment!)
Try all of the above, and then use a GPS to verify your speedo readings. My speedo reads about 10% low compared to the GPS, the odometer is about 5% low. I have an 11:00-20 speedo adapter which I bought from Saturn which I'm going to install to see if I can get more accurate readings.
Same thing here. My engine tag states LDT465-1D, but I definitely have a "C" turbo. I'm not really sure that the -1C or -1D suffix refers to the turbo, it may be a difference in the engineering level of engine itself. FYI, I have attached a photo of my "C" turbo. The "D" turbo has a wider...
I can't find TM9-2990-201-40 or TM9-2990-201-45 on LOGSA.
Rdixiemiller - BTW, I realize you pic MCV-019s.jpg is upside down, but is that a "C" turbo or a "D" turbo? Upside down, it looks like a "D".
I bought the grille cover pretty cheaply from George at Vermont Commercial Salvage, vtcsm37@aol.com. He has tons of M35 stuff, I wouldn't be surprised if he had the complete arctic kit. Also bought wheel bearings from him and just bought a complete subdued bridge plate set NIB for $18.
