Don't recall which TMs I was in, most places said a 2 amp fuse but I did run across one manual that listed as 4 amp. Maybe a difference in the -209 and -361 manuals?
Phil - Try this link in the TM section http://www.steelsoldiers.com/index.php?module=pagesetter&type=file&func=get&tid=1&fid=file&pid=57
As I said, the injector nozzle testing is listed as page 25 in the table of contents, it actually starts on page 35 when you view as a PDF file.
Check the fuse in the top of the fuel pump cover. Depending on which TM you choose to believe, it is either 2 or 4 amps rated. for more info check out http://www.steelsoldiers.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=7994
I was out of the service by the time the 80's rolled around. The only weapons lube we had in those days was LSA (Lubricant, Small Arms). Worked OK, it was a mixture of beeswax in oil, but did not come close to CLP as a lubricant.
I'd suggest a .50 cal replica, but the cops still wouldn't know the difference anyhow until they had already pulled you over and has the SWAT team surrounding your vehicle. Just my 2 cents. Here in Michigan, a live weapon (loaded or not) is illegal unless it is enclosed in a case or otherwise...
RE: deuce top
OK - pic shows up for me now. I guess if you like it and have a garage to keep it out of the rain, go for it. I don't have a garage and prefer the look with the sides down anyhow.
If it is that bad, then rebuild it. Mine has been working OK for me. As preventative medicine, I pulled off the J pipe and squirted in a healthy dose of Breakfree CLP (CLP as in Cleaner, Lubricant, Protectant). If you guys have never used this stuff, run down to Wally World and buy a can, then...
The US Eastern time zone is GMT-5 hours, thus noon time in England is 7:00am Eastern Standard Time. That works through Sunday, then we set our clocks back one hour, so if I did the math right, on Monday noon time in England will be 6:00am Eastern Daylight Savings Time. Don't know why we screw up...
You MAY try turning your fuel adjustment up just a TAD. Mine used to be a real bear to start, even in summertime on 100% diesel. I turned the fuel adjustment up 1/3rd turn (two flats on the adjustment nut) and now it starts like a champ. 1-2 revs and she fires right up, it used to take several...
I just bought a subdueded NOS bridge plate kit. I'd love to install it on my Deuce, but it did not come with any instructions. It came with a couple of bracket and a package of nuts and bolts, do I'm kind of at a loss here. Is there a TM/TA anyplace that describes how to install the bridge plate...
Were you running straight diesel at first? The 50/50 fuel blend may be affecting your FDC compensation. Also, how much have your ambient temperatures changed? Colder ambient temperatures will affect starting. I had near instantaneous starting in the summer, now that temps drop below freezing at...
I'll give you a hint - with the fuel turned up all the way, on a hard run your EGTs are in the range that will melt your turbo. INSTALL A PYROMETER, then crank the fuel down to a safe level, no more than 1100-1150F on a hard pull unless you want to buy a new turbo. If you can't afford/can't...
My local auto shop also has the lower fittings. You can buy the flare nuts and rings individually, they also stock both male and female pipe to compression adapters. Nice thing about compression fittings is if the ring gets too beat up from repeated assembly/disassembly, you usually have enough...
Confirmed that the dropside and non dropside bows and corners are the same dimensionally. I have a mixture on my truck, two non dropside bows & corners, the rest are all dropside. The strap on the corners are only for the older covers. The newer 1 piece Vinyl covers (at least the one I have) has...
RE: Beacons
Roger on your message MrAugust. Just be aware shipping across the big pond can be pretty pricey. Can you get the container dimensions and weight? Then I can some get estimates for shipping
COLD? Thats warm here, 20s-30s at night, 40s at best during the day. Had 8" of snow last Thursday & Friday. MV content - The Deuce fired up today w/o a problem after sitting nearly a week!
Better yet check out the "Deuce Wiper Arm & Blade Upgrade" article in the TA section. If that doesn't work for you, you can have my old wiper arms once I get around to upgrading mine!
