It seems like the flame heater check valve is leaking. I cleaned it off w/ brake cleaner (that's what the dirty streaks are from) and can't find where it's coming from. Is it poss that it's leaking from the end of it? Neither fitting looks to be leaking anywhere as much as drips off the end...
I have two M146's that need to have the roof sealed, they leak when it rains. Have heard that someone used bed liner on the roof of their M109 (i think). I'm wondering about whether that would be better than doing some kind of mobile home roof coat. I'm guessing that it would cost more, still...
I've been wanting to do this to Elise's "She Beast" as well. Can I get a parts list from you? It looks like you had to get the reservoir, mounting bracket, clamp, and line? I know that I need to change the vent on the MC to a barbed fitting. Did you use a 90deg fitting?
In Elise's "She Beast";
Went to the Dirtbag gathering in the spring, about 60 miles each way,
Then in the summer, up the Eastern Sierras to the Black Rock Desert
and back down through Death Valley, 1500 miles.
In My "little Draggin' ";
Just went to Parker (on the colorado river...
All good info, we just did 1500 miles in Elise's "She Beast" this summer. Ran up the Eastern Sierras to the Black Rock Desert and back down through Death Valley. We did have some issues w/ oil dumping into the clutch, first from a tranny that doesn't like too much oil, and then from a rear main...
I just replaced mine w/ locals from Car Quest.
the primary was #86511, and the secondary & final were #86512.
one of the gaskets in the primary worked, for the seconds I needed to order 2x gasket #90070.
I think these NAPA #'s are good;
Prime - #3511
Sec - #3512
gaskets for seconds, - #5070
we did get a dual set from him this summer, it had some mild damage (bent) to the fan(?) that mounts behind the pulley. Offered to replace it myself if he sent me a new one, so far he hasn't. He also does not reply to emails very often. They came w/ no parts list or install instructions, still...
Thanks, I did that w/ our 105 as well. It has (at the moment) 3x 35-40Gal tanks, an air powered diaphragm pump, filters/water separator. We can pump from some source to tanks on the trailer or into the tank on the truck. Can also pump from trailer to truck.
wipers
Our 109 (the "She Beast") had the driver's wiper motor flipped over. The first time we ran into rain it didn't work, the pass one did. So I did a quick, in the rain, change over . . . the pass motor, now on the driver's side, didn't work:roll: After playing around a bit it seems...
I didn't even know that they existed :shock: So we did this.
It's a step and storage. The hold-down is w/ a wing-nut under the step. It also folds out of the way, onto the fender, so that we can access the batts.
I'm afraid of metal straps :-( I want to be able to cut the strap if...
That's great, that's the first time I've seen safety wiring illustrated clearly. I didn't do the wiring in my photos, my friend that was helping us did it like it had been done by the army mech from it's last overhaul.
What you show makes total sense and I'll be sure to use that method in the...
That is how it was on both the secondary & final. There really is no hole for a cotter pin in this can. The shaft also seems larger (bigger in dia) than the ones on the secondarys (hard to tell for sure as I had already put them back before opening the primary) I did have to use a 1" wrench to...
So it looks like I need to find another washer and an O-ring that fits the shaft. I have been looking at the TM, "ARMY TM 9-2320-361-24-1" that's why I knew better than to just put it back together the way it was ;-)
Another thing that is diff is that the shaft is NOT drilled for a cotter pin.
Ok, I have one for you.
just pulled the primary filter on the 109. The seconds all seemed normal other than the filters were different from what was in there. The primary is really different and I seem to be missing some of the stock parts. The TM calls for a washer, spring, washer, gasket, cup...
I'm w/ you on that. Have thought about putting spring clamps on, or cutting part of the spring off (kind of like lowering a coil spring suspension).
I do kind of like the "easy" thought of running a cable stop, or two, one on each side.
I'm 6', 150 pounds, have my spring seat turned as soft as it will go. . . and still I look at the wiper motor:-|
How do you guys light weight get the seat low enough to see out to the horizon?
My WMO tank is black, and I live in the desert. I want it to get hot and cook out the water. It also makes crud drop to the bottom faster. I then have 2 valved outlets on one end, one about 6" above the other. The lower one lets me drain any water & crud out. When I start getting oil I then shut...
