    Caution with loadouts!

It's Frankfort. GL keeps saying that it is the COs issue not theirs. May be true as the equipment used in the past for loading was National Guard Equipment and labor. Not mentioning specific lots ;)

    Caution with loadouts!

I was bidding on a few trailers, but noticed that the site which used to help load now says buyer loads. So I called on it and they will no longer load items into the back of a truck or onto a flatbed for the customer anymore.. They have done a little rearranging of some personnel and the new...

    Separating out Antifreeze?

I got a good source for used hydraulic fluid, motor oil, and ATF, but when they drain their fluids they mix them together including the antifreeze. Now they offered to take back the antifreeze if I can separate it out and they will dispose of it with the rest of their oil. How do you separate...

Curt receiver hitch for the Deuce, 18,000lb/1,800lb

I thought long and hard about a trailer hitch and designed a custom job that pins to the two rear shackle brackets and then would be braced and pinned to the frame cross member just behind the axle. Four cotter pins and the whole thing could be removed. I was hoping to find a reputable welder...

    Ads missing?

Maybe we maxed out their monthly quota all ready? Seems kinda early in the month for that.

    Ads missing?

Just curious as to why the GL ads have been MIA from the forum the last few days? did they decided they don't need to advertise with us any longer?

Questions about insuring a 1987 AM General (Harder to get insured)

It is AM General but my insurance card from Progressive has it listed as an American Ambassador. You cannot put it on your personal vehicle policy through them... has to be a commercial policy, it cost me about 260.00 per year.

Help starting 5 ton in DC for $100 cash

I am not familiar with that truck, but I can throw out some ideas. Make sure the fuel cut off did not freeze in the closed position. Physically look in the tank and make sure it has fuel. Can you hear the fuel pump running when the power is turned on? Did some kids dump snow in the fuel tank...

    Extra Fuel Tank

If we stop to fuel up the zombies will get us.

    Extra Fuel Tank

That is what I would do. If you mount them at the same level they can be connected together with just a hose and the fuel pump would draw from both evenly. Also your fuel gauge would show the level of both tanks.

Possible to get a military hummer for 10 grand?

I think it would be cheaper to buy a civilian H1 and strip it down to make it look like an Hmmwv. I am not even sure it would be legal to build one up from real hmmwv parts.

    glow plugs on deuce?

The IH Farmall diesel was an attempt to enter the diesel market without completely retooling. They were set up to produce gas powered tractors so they essentially made a gasoline engine that ran on diesel. It did not have the compression that a diesel has. You could crank it all day long trying...

Reliability of a deuce vs a 1980's suburban or F350?

They may be listing them for 5 K on ebay, but they are not selling for that. On the reliability front how much reliability do you really expect to get from a 3 K rig? Regardless of weather it is a Suburban, F350 or Deuce, you will get 3 K worth of reliability. These trucks are old... if you...
