5 ton combat rims are too wide. 10" those should be put on an 8-8.5" wide wheel. For full working capacity. I've seen them singled out on 7.5" wide duce trucks before, and I bet they would work that way as well.
I wonder what bolt patter the Mrap wheels have. I've only seen a wheel once and...
I've heard the direct injection system is much better than the old propane mixer going over the top of the carb or replacing it. Essentially your truck ends up with 2 sets of injectors for each cylinder. One for gas one for propane.
This is kind of a double Post but Brad Meyers has brought his half tracks to this event and supported the Puget Sound Military Vehicle Club. His funeral is on Saturday the 8th at the Snoqualmie Golf Club in North Bend. If some one local from his club showed up for his funeral with some green...
In the offroad equiptment world for loaders and such you are allowed 6% difference front to rear. I'm unsure on 6wd vehicles. I know you get lots of traction with just the 4 rear tires and if they are slipping on snow it may provide enough for the 395s.
I wanted to let some of you know that a MV collector/ supporter passes away recently. Brad Meyers who owned a business in Redmond BE Meyers passed away about a week ago. He supported the Puget Sound Military Vehicle Collector Club holding meetings at his business location. He has taken his half...
Interesting concept with the 395 1200 combination. Mud dragged often put slightly taller tires in the front to help pull themselves through the mud.
I would guess that if your engaged the front end there is some slippage happening anyway so the difference wouldn't be so much
One of the big advances in alternative fuels is propane. Several municipalities here in Washington State, specifically Anacortes is using multiple propane injection in gas motors. Apparently they work excellent in the Ford V10 in bigger work trucks like the F550. Most kits reflash or replace the...
Sweet tire. I've seen them run singled out on some of the older gas deuces. I think you would need a spacer or something to run them dualled up. They normally go on a 8-8.5" wide wheel and most of the military wheels are 7.5" or 10" wide.
Mich specs say they go on an 11" wide wheel. Not sure how you could run them dualled up. They look spec wise like a 12.5R20 XL that were run on the unimogs.
Keeping 1100r20 the good part is they sent that hard to find. They are stable and safe. Good for over the road driving. Tubes, tires & wheels are available most tire shops. Bad not a good choice to air down, you can spin the tire and cut off or pinch the stem.
Singles... good for off road use...
