balancing 37" and 36" hummer tires.. not working out

Here are a few important points on the hummer tires. First off all the goo on the inside needs to be cleaned out. Best done with hot water. The goo closely resembles Tire mounting soap. I would use a product like Tire Life, or antifreeze. I have used antifreeze on my old 36" bias hummer...

    DIY Tire Balancing

I said it resembles the tire soap and it's properties. If I could get my hands on the MSDS sheets I could compare them but have never got my hands on the stuff for inside the military tires. Why would you take the grease out? #1reason is to help balance the tire. All the hummer tires I've run...

    DIY Tire Balancing

Equil powder only works when you use an air dryer on your compressor. Humidity causes the powder to clump. There is a liquid used in the tire industry call Tire Life. http://www.fullerbros.com/tire-life/ it's active ingredient is also in antifreeze. Both liquids make it difficult to put nail...

    H1 wheels on M1028

Running hummer wheels backwards will add a lot of stress the wheel bearings on the front end. In Washington state it is legal to read center Hummer wheels for on road use. There is a high level of liability. Many places will sell you the kit but won't do the work.

    DIY Tire Balancing

So am I understanding this correctly? These bolt to the hummer wheels to help balance them with a sealed medium... to take out the negatives of in Tire solutions like Equil and other bag powder style balancing media?

The 37x12.5r16.5 military tires use a 8.25"wide wheel on the Hummers. They work fine on 9.5" wide wheel as well. Here in the PNW I think they are the best bang for the buck for a 37"tire. I have numerous friends that run them and my brother did in his old ford. Some people say they don't balance...

    Manually airing up brakes?

In the air tank there may be a water drain in the tank. I had to move an old trailer that sat a long time. I put an femal are the chuck in and then used a double male to fill it from my air compressor. It lifted the same cam off the shoes so that I could tap the drum and pry on the shoe to get...

    Another question on lock rings

No lock ring wheel should have that big of a gap.

    Another question on lock rings

No you can't fix that. That is what happens when you get in a hurry. Military lock rings are stronger because they have that deep flange, however you need to beat the bead down farther. Military style rings are harder to find and are NOT interchangeable with any other style.

    Modern Tire size for M211

In a 6 hole bud design wheel your gona need to shoot for a motor home sized Tire such as a 235/80r22.5 may be a little shorter. There aren't any common wide 6 hole wheels in 6 hole bud so you would have to custom make them.

    Another question on lock rings

Depends on how bad. You got a pic? What rim size is it? Lock rings that are bent so that the break in the lock ring looks more like a "c" are much harder to fix than if it was just sprung a little too much one side or the other. Lock rings are wrecked by those who are impatient.

    Tire /wheel question

An 1100R20 is only rated for a rim width of 7.5-8" you may be able to stretch the width another .5" for light duty use. 10" is way to wide and will change the flex point too much.

Centrifical force move the liquid to where it's most effective. In aircraft tires they use balancing patches put on the inside in the middle of the tread. The advantage to liquid is that you can't spin the balancing weights on the wheel and as a Tire wears it's point of balance does also. I...
