Ed, If you missing the window, messure how big the opening is, and I'll talk to my local glass cutter and see how much it would be to get a chuck of laminated safety glass in that size. I dont know how much larger the glass needs to be, then the visable spot.
i got M107s this way, one in the bed of the truck, the other in tow. When I got home, I just tied the 107 in the bed of the truck to a tree and drove out from underneath it. Didnt hurt the trailer a bit.
Napa can get 24v bulbs for just about anything, just talk to an old guy who knows his stuff.

was thinking of putting a couple sets on the deuce just wired...
From what I've read and some basicly calulations(which I think works). This is all assuming that the winch shear pin strength go up linearly with the weight the winch can handle.

I've seen many 6.0L fords stranded at the dunes when the headgasket pops when they try and drag a trailer threw some soft sand. **** I've made close to 500 bucks pulling fords out. Wish they kept the 6.0L.
That said I've pulled out alot of stuck Dodges, Chevys, and Fords, But only seen Newer...

If you damage the bed, or ware it out, you can replace it with out having to replace the cab also.
On one of delivery trucks (85 chevy s-10), we have replaced the bed twice since it got wore out.
Did you check the hydrolic fluid tank after you tried to winch to make sure it was full? System could have been dry, and the tank full before you stared and when you kicked it on, it may have drained drained the tank to the point it doesnt have enough fluid to run the winch.
Other then that...
I like the idea of hauling the sami in the bed. When I go to the dunes, I normally haul a Baja Bug in the bed of my truck, and my Landcruiser on a trailer behind it. And as for all the the unnessassry mod they add, I agree with Jakob, If someone was willing to pay to build a truck, I'd put on...
