Your son needs to talk to someone who knows generators. There is no -34. The -24 is it. Try taking the electric Actuator off and seeing if the linkage is hooked up right.
I'll be the first to say that a little so-called "white noise" actually puts me to sleep, but I think this is a little too much. You'd wake up fully refreshed...but you'd be deaf.
Well, now that you mention it, I do wear two hearing aids.............................
My nightmare would be to wake up to just the sound of clacking fuel pumps!
You will never know how often this happened on the Tac Site. All 7 gen sets ran on Aux. Sometimes in the middle of the night, rats, dogs, people or even wind would disturb the Aux fuel line running into the 600 gal pods...
We had 4 of the 600 Gal. Pods on the ground. And the trucks were always full and parked next to the pods. On Monday, I had to be the first in line, to get fuel at the POL point. Get back to site and then dump. Then I jumped into the second truck and went right back to the POL point to get the...
If you ever completely remove the skin of this set and break the set down to major parts, putting it back together can be a pain. Lots of slop. I used to have a box full of tapered punches. I used them to get everything back "Almost" right. Then a slight tap here and there with a inertia hammer...
I pass there every time I come on post through the Netzaberg gate. Many moons ago I worked in your MP. Well, all of them on post at one time or another.
That's how you do it. Everyone is happy that you come and fix stuff, so they don't care if you take a break. Sometimes if I didn't make any noise for an hour, someone came out to make sure I hadn't keeled over with a heart attack.
I have seen this set before. Someplace, sometime. I THINK, it was a problem with oil in the coolant. Easy fix. It may have been in a PM, just the owner/me. And I seem to remember me asking him about all the safety stuff, and he did not reply.
If it works, don't fool with it. It needs cleaning. I saw cut off wires. The shutter Assy needs to be checked along with many other things. But if it works, good. Check it out, service it and clean it up. Then maybe spend some money on it.
I feel for you Will. I love working on heavy junk. Construction equipment. But had to stop. I will be 71 in a few days and its just too heavy. My shoulders are wrecked.
