Wet with what? Fuel or oil? If the oil looks and smells like fuel, the injector pump is leaking fuel into the oil. The oil level goes up, and at some point you have oil/fuel in the jugs.

The click you hear is maybe one of these relays. Ad a click is not assurance that it works. 1. KBI Sensor switch. 2. Starter lock out. 3. Starter Repeat Lock out.

Disconnect the wires from CT1-C, 1&2. Then measure for continuity on the CT1-c connections. If you have good continuity, the CT is good.
