So I scraped my plan with using the original mounts on the frame and modifying the original crossmember. I made some make shift mounts from some scrap metal to see if I could get it to work but they sit to high and to close. If I went with a aftermarket adaptor I would have been ok but because...
Yes in the back there two writes and your body to engine ground, and yes I know because for 3 weeks my truck was doing crazy **** took for ever to figure out but the grounding strap was broken and put a new one on and all my problems went away!!!! But that's a grounding location. Your spark...
that why when you find an cummins it important to find one with the adaptor you want. But if I wanted to put a 47re from a dodge a adaptor plate from a dodge cummins is cheap!!!! I seen complete packages for 200 from junked trucks. I'm just going with the gm one because it's what I the engine...
6bt or 5.9 is longer and heavier by 300 lbs and 4bt is about the same weight and just a tad longer then a 6.2 so no serious mods to the frame and suspension have to be done with a 4bt and a th400 can handle the stock rating of a 4bt so no trans changes ether. But I already have a 2 inch lift on...
On to it!!! 2 days ago I test fitted the engine in the frame for the first time and ran into my first hump.... The front crossmember in front of the motor mounts needs to be lowed I already had it in my mind this was going to happen but I wasn't shocked when it did. P.S. It pays to know people...

So here's the motor. A p pumped 4bt with a Chevy adaptor plate out of a UTZ van. I plan on using a th400 behind it for right now until I have for funds for a 4l80e or switch everything over to a build 47re we'll see what lays ahead on this.
heres the trans I want to use, a rebuild th400 4x4...

You blown a head gasket or warped One of your heads. It can't be your cooler because oil and coolant would be mixing in the radiator and there no way it's the water pump, yes it bolts to the block but none of the bolts go throw the water passage in the pump. Look at the exhaust coming out of the...

Test the alts with a voltmeter. the left isnt to exceed 16 volts and the drivers 31.8volts if it does bad regulators. You can get them rebuilt at a good rebuild shop for way less then new.
Could be worseone of you battiers could almost exploded from the drivers side overcharging, and the funny thing is I rebuilt that alternator with that kit from cucvelectric because it was charging low. Now its charging at 17.6 VOLTS! I thinkits those kits because that original alt lasted 26 years...
