The light flickering means that the alternator is putting out just enough to keep the light from tripping. My lights on my 1009 stay on immediately after startup until I rev the engine. They stay off from then on.
As was stated, check your belt tension. Some belt 'flap' while idling is ok, but...
I looked at the pics of that truck on GL when it was up... please post up some pics of the AC setup as it is certainly not factory.
The truck appears to be one of the shelter carrier variants that had the M1010 alternator setup with the AC for the shelter in the bed. There was no different...
Hello from another Co Springs CUCV owner... If you need any help with the truck, drop me a line. Or if you would just like to come by and look at other green iron, drop me a line... :)

That's funny, one of my 1009s has the cable on the right, but 550 cord tied up to make a support on the left...
The rest of mine have cables on both sides, and the Burby does too.

The brake light on the dash is not only a parking brake light, but also a brake system warning light. Does your pedal feel normal? Pump it a few times with the motor off and see if the switch in the proportioning valve centers and shuts it off.

If I were going to build one, I would pick up an old 70s/80s Chevy 1 Ton and make a trailer out of it.
Next question, what was involved in putting the electric brake axle under the 101?

Joe
I would hazard a guess that it would be at least in the $1500 range if not more due to the value of the dually fenders and the Dana 70.
The contents of the kit should include at a minimum:
2 Dually fenders with all four lights and mounting template
1 Dana 70 axle
1 Rear sway bar with mounting...
If you keep the Getrag, you can improve its reliability and longevity by taking the shifter off and overfilling the transmission by about a pint. The angle that Dodge installed the Getrag at caused it to starve the front bearings when filled to the fill plug level.

No, the orange wire goes to the same large terminal as the glow plugs. The card will not work properly with the orange wire hooked up that way.

The 1993 dodge would have the Getrag, not the 4500. It would also have the 205 transfer case.
Sounds like a cool senior project. Good luck with it and take lots of pics.

The card is most likely ok... no worries there but the plugs are probably burnt out.
Go to Autozone and get a Glow Plug Relay for a 1996 F350 with the 7.3 diesel.

Joe
The small terminals don't matter with the proper relay. As long as one is positive and one is negative, the relay will close. On a 'Ford Style' starter solenoid, there is one positive wire for closing the relay to start labelled 'S' and one that provides 12V to the coil, bypassing the resistor...
Why use a transfer case? Just get a 2wd transmission for it and eliminate the extra transfer case. I don't really think the double underdrive capability would be necessary.

You'll need the 9-2320-289 series of TMs. Download them all (-10, -20, -20P, -34, -34P and the LO)
You can find them all in the Resources tab at the top of the site.

The easy way to eliminate the alt as the problem is to charge the battery and then disconnect the alt. If the battery still goes dead, it isn't the alt itself.
The 24V side of the truck is very simple so the problem is only in one of three circuits:
The alternator
The starter
The glow plugs...
It's the bottom-most fuse in the box and is labeled "28V" and is a 10A fuse.
I can't read your attached image on my netbook's screen so I can't give you any help from there... LOL
