Im with riderdan… sounds like maybe the temp unit for the glow plugs is bad, or mismatched to the new control box? There are certain TSUs that don't work with certain boxes. I believe older style TSU/GPCs don't work with newer style boxes

Ive never seen one by itself that didn't come with a new joint, and you need to disconnect the thing to install. Why don't you want to just replace the whole joint? Just count the turns when removing to get it close enough for alignment purposes if that's your worry

My guess is that was hand painted, or touched up, because of either the rivets causing a bad "W" or there not being enough space for a full width "W"

The "NG" in the registration number seems to signify National Guard. Mine was definitely a national guard truck since new and has the "NG"

Making some rear half doors with a cheap set of 2 man blanks. Used soft door hinges and cut the floor insert down to clear the rumble seats. Field expedient latching mechanism functions better than it looks.
