OH Anybody have USAA for their military vehicle?

So here's the outcome... Called USAA, talked to a very nice lady, went through the algorithm, had to stop because of the weight of a deuce. They then referred me to Liberty insurance, they can't insure the deuce. So I called progressive, took a little while to get me to the right person, but...

Less than 18 months and under 1,000 miles my axle boots failed.

Chinese made? For some reason I seem to recall some kind of issue like that.

Increasing the air intake in a deuce

I'm pretty sure you could hit a higher top speed with them, and keep up with a convoy better, especially in hilly areas.

Increasing the air intake in a deuce

I just recall all the turbo deuces in our motorpool being a bit faster and more powerful than the non-turbo'd trucks.

Increasing the air intake in a deuce

Uh, I CAN figure out how many cubic inches are in a cubic foot, I'm not THAT stupid...

Increasing the air intake in a deuce

Would the stock M35 air filter not have unused air capacity? My end goal is to have a deuce that looks stock but has a little extra under the hood. It just seems the stock intake is rather small compared to the filter size. Granted you have to have a clean filter for maximum capacity, I'm...

Increasing the air intake in a deuce

Has anybody tried to increase the air intake capacity on the air filter housing on a deuce by adding a second hole for a mushroom cap under the hood, or maybe a second one out of the side of the hood?? I put a Banks intake on my Jeep Wrangler when I got it, and it made a HUGE difference, just...

OH Anybody have USAA for their military vehicle?

I'm in Ohio and have had USAA for my regular vehicles and home for nearly 30 years, but I've never insured a military or antique vehicle with them. I'm looking to buy an M35 that's currently registered as an antique, just wondering if any of you have any experience with them insuring your MV's.

    Deuce Jack Safety Questions

I should also add that box crib weigh capacities are based on having a solid layer of 4x4's on the top, with the weight evenly distributed across all the 4x4's for maximum weight capacity. If the weight is just on one 4x4 in the stack, it will not hold the maximum weight. The weight has to be...

    Deuce Jack Safety Questions

NAPA has them, and places like Auto Zone or other automotive parts places should have them. Or you can use 4x4 box cribbing. You might be able to get 2' pieces of 4x4's from a company that installs decks as scrap pieces.

    Deuce Jack Safety Questions

Basic pine 4x4's are rated for 12 tons when used in a box crib. As an individual stack, (generally no more than 2 high) 3 tons.

Hydroplane Warning - Houston Fire Dept. 5-Ton

Military tires suck on wet concrete. And I'm betting that they just assumed that they didn't need to train on driving that specific truck.

Is it safer to wear seatbelts, or not?

As for rule #1, that depends on the vehicle, the road, and the conditions. Many vehicles bigger than a HMMWV are DESIGNED to go faster than 45 mph, and in some places, it's dangerous to go that slow, ie, the interstate.

RAILROAD CROSSING SAFETY - Sheriff Officer Hit - could have been any of us.

Ferro isn't lying, I'm the guy that scrapes them up. I think we had one 3 mile section of heavy main line with two NS tracks and one CSX track that averaged one person hit a year in ten years, cars and pedestrians.

    value of m49a2c Tank

I was in a Brigade HHC motor section, and we had one deuce with two 300 gal. fuel pods, and a trailer with another pod in it. That's it. I think one year we went to AT with 110 vehicles in our motor pool, and that's the only fueling capability our unit had. We had a unit that would set up fuel...

    MWM diesel?

Somebody needs to be in JAIL. Actually, a BUNCH of people need to be in jail for this. This "Colonel" needs to lose his pension as a minimum. Heck, you might as well have gone with a beefed up M-151A2, with what that Growler piece of crap was.
