Looks like I dented the edge of the gauge getting the needle unstuck.
Perfect
I did use the palm of my hand but that wasn't working.
Had a towel on the generator to soften the blows but looks like that did not work.
Download the TM's for your generator and familiarize yourself with them.
Lots of great info.
The generator experts will point you in the right direction.
Took out gauge and had to smack it pretty hard but needle came back.
Turned on generator without starting and now it’s working again.
Will replace it anyway since there’s clearly an issue.
Lots of conflicting information on this in the old threads.
To be clear, the 8.5” is the length needed?
Some posts had 8” for the 803A.
Some said use the 5.5” for 802A and fuel gauge will be off but no clearance issues with new sensor.
I went ahead and ordered the 8.5” since that’s what you...
Started generator up today and ran it for about 20 minutes to get engine oil nice and hot.
Drained oil and changed oil filter.
Used Wix of course.
Oil was dark but not black.
Best part is that there wasn’t any silver sheen to it. (Meaning Bearing material).
Used Mobil1 Delvac 15w-40
Started...
The battery’s arrived yesterday late.
All the small parts have arrived.
Still waiting on the battery hold down hooks.
Cleaned the cables and terminals and trays.
Time to work on the fuel tank now that I have the brass well nut kit and new gaskets for the rest of the tank.
It’s taking lots of...
They make really good vinyl paint now.
Watched a few YouTube videos about it.
The more expensive ones are worth the price.
Your old diesel will make great weed killer
M1009s are getting really scarce. Yours looks to be worth the effort.
Recommend that when you splice in new wire to an existing wire, use the same color wire.
Adding yellow wire to the end of a red wire, etc will make things very confusing down the road.
Your before and after pictures show at least the blue wire location placement.
That hose has enough upslope so I left it alone
Doesn’t appear to vibrate that much at all.
Will pay closer attention to it next time and see how it acts.
I’ll probably just zip tie it and be done with it.
The generator itself doesn’t vibrate as much as I thought it would.
It’s just really...
Great idea on the ketchup/mustard bottles.
The way I did it was not working. Soaked the floor of my cargo trailer before I could get something under it.
I like your idea since you don’t need a funnel and have max control of the filling process.
I’ll set it aside for now.
It’s ready when needed...
Last evening I added engine oil.
Made a huge mess. Overfilled and oil everywhere getting the excess out
Will be getting a pitcher that has all the measurements on it.
That way I can measure exactly, then pour it in.
Added fuel (Seafoam/two-cycle oil added) and bled system.
Was fairly easy...
Will use the CUCV to slave it.
Agree with the recommended on priming.
Familiar with the decompression lever.
I did read about how sensitive this engine is on oil level.
