It's been about a month, so it's time for an update.
I had to take a couple of weeks off because of work. When I got back at it, I changed the transmission fluid and filter. Next I repaired/rerouted the 1/4" air line that was mangled on the air drier and serviced the fan clutch thermostat...
I sold my Deuce in early 2012 and kept the permanent antique tag. When I bought the M1028A2 later in 2012, I tried to transfer the permanent antique tag from the Deuce to it (RS-25, the procedure that covers ex-MVs says any tag office can do the transfer) and the local tag office couldn't make...
Heat it up in an oven (not one you cook in) to 160 F. for about one hour. The potting will soften up and you should be able to carefully pry it out. If you have a heat gun, you can spot heat it and dig the potting out one area at a time.

Just tap off the battery(s) that goes to ground so you have 12V from B+ to ground. If you are worried about charge imbalance, switch the battery position every 6 months. I swap my CUCV batteries front to back like that and have no problems. If you are going to pull more than about 5 AMPS I...
I had a productive week and day today working on the M929. I repainted the muffler and a replacement under-cab exhaust pipe during the week. I had a little work to grind a bolt head off the frame clamp that holds the under-cab pipe. After getting the bolt ground off so I could replace the old...
