M1010 Friday night show-off
This ol' house on wheels attracts the crowds at A&W so I figured I'd share the night's photos.
There's a little piece of 1010 in every pic.
This is one of my favorite shots.... the 1010 between 18" rubbers.
That's a big green Steel Soldiers Welcome!
I think if a truck looks that good after being stored in a river, I'm going to drive some trucks into a river. It's beautiful.
I can't play the mechanic role but one can guess that everything could be taken apart, cleaned, bearing and rusty races...
That is just ugly. Is it definitely diff fluid? Did ya smell it? Diff fluid stinks so bad it fits in the diesel category for bad smells. Ugly, stinky job,.... wish I was there.
On the bonus side, it should come apart easy all lubed up like that! Your seal should work good until the next...
I can't believe the shiny thing made me smile like it did, very cool schoolboy, nice work.
Run through the process for us when you get a break. What kind of toys are you using to take the measurements and create parts?
If a guy needed a part, any idea what the cost would be to pay a shop to...
A little update and notice that Alberta had a minimum 35% increase in traffic related fines starting today, May 1, 2015. I'll just bet the new tourism moto is........
.....If you come visit, leave early.
"""""General speeding fines will now range from $78 (1 km over) to $474 (50 km over) and...
After seeing what you're doing and given enough time and money, anything we want. I'm just waiting for you to build the scanner/printer for all of us so I can put an NOS part in the scanner side here....and you can run to the garage to get the part out of your parts printer.
I wonder how much...
Winch shield
N- Shield Part # YT-2285374.................Duplication replicated.
After a long wait, the Shield for the PTO mid-shaft bearing is done. It's the first piece off the G-749 I tried to make a copy of, so we had to do it right. That's why it took 700+ days to get it on the plasma...
It's spring, nearly three years after we last had this discussion. I hope that means all has been good! Bumping the camping safety in trees thread with a removal video. If possible, camp next to a large friend.
If you're setting up camp in the the big trees and the winds come up, have an...
How to prime the 6.2l diesel
I did have a challenge finding an 'easy to reach' thread with a decent title for 'priming'. Maybe my search filters are missing something but I was looking through the stickies and faq's for something along the lines of;
a) How to prime the 6.2l diesel
b) trouble...
How to prime your 6.2l diesel
Not being a mechanic and coming from a horticultural point of view, it was best that I left that decision to someone with more experience.
The mechanic suggested I go take pictures of carbs, turbos, pistons and valves with similar bolt patterns......and leave him...
I had a tough time getting Push, the M1010 running after sitting for 500 days. I knew I was in trouble when I took the air cleaner off and the carb' was missing. Thought about swapping in a radial engine. Then a friend had a little talk with the M1010, ..........and now that it's running, I can...
I really appreciate the time you take to get the pictures and add information to all the steps along the way. I've learned more in the minutes reading this thread than I could ever remember, so it's a good thing you wrote it down and gave us pictures.
The trani/motor stand fabricated out of an...
M1010 rides again
Some poetic justice.
My ode to mechanics.
Here once sat a lonely 1010, I worked real hard to get it running again. New filters and pumps, check the steering and brakes, she's going back to the parade front, whatever it takes.
I checked the TM's for the process to prime...
CUCV electric fuel pump
I got my CUCV running after it rested for over 500 days. A part of my success is because of this thread so I'm bumping it. I found it after searching "cucv electric fuel pump " on my favorite search engine.
After sitting for so long I decided to go through the system...
Does everyone 'know' their local law when passing Emergency Services Vehicles or Rescue Vehicles??
I thought I'd be bumping this post to encourage everyone to drive focused and have a peak at the distracted driving enforcement that Alberta is doing already...
Wagner 15306 is what we use and we'll need more. If you had nothing but time you could do a little experiment and try it out around the yard.
Otherwise it's change out the fronts to 15306 or hunt down 8 - 1 1/4 for the rears, which is less work. Can you find the 1 1/4" cylinders?
Looks like we...
I could answer that for you, but I'm a landscaper. Do you have a topsoil question? Pascal's theory would make a guy think it would simply apply less force to the front brakes and the return springs don't care what size the cylinder is so .....I honestly don't know.
I wish I had more mechanical...
Great suggestion!
I had someone step across the hitch, catch their foot on the trailer wire and pull it off. They looked around but I'm sure were afraid to get caught 'fixing it'. We were watching from the restaurant but I might not have caught the play if I didn't see it myself.
I got in the...
Camper Windows
Built this by hand in the 80's and used 1/4 inch plexi-glass in a wood frame to get the aircraft effect when you were standing in the back.
The slant of the glass kept it from taking any serious rocks so that application was a little different than yours but the plexi held up...
If you can make it to Wendy's on 118 ave and 142st for 1200hrs tomorrow, April 17th.....and it's not raining.....we should be able to see a few green MVPA toys roll in.
A few of the boys are in Cali at Tower Park http://www.mvpa.org/home/mv-events/ so we'll miss them but the broke guys will be...
