I don't remember seeing it for sale in the classified ads here. Was it? It's hard to believe somebody here would not have bought it for scrap price if it came to that or it going through the shredder.
Hey Don, do you have the chocks mounted in a way that keeps them from bouncing around while you're going down the road? I would think they would beat the back of the truck up while it is in motion if they are just hanging there.
After wiping the dirt off it is black and the glow plug system does work. The glow plugs cycle once for about 2 seconds after the engine starts and I can see the voltmeter drop. I can also hear it cycle before I start the engine and there's no exhaust smoke after it starts (of course it's 85...
I need help Identifying a loose wire on my M1028A2. It looks like a ground wire to me and I don't see any obvious place it should be attached. The wire is coming out of the passenger side engine harness near the firewall right over the rear most injector.
I checked wiring diagrams in TM...

I dumped a gallon of Dexron in to bring it up to the add a pint mark. It leaks at the selector shaft so I need to replace the seal. It drives and shifts normally after replacing the transmission vacuum hoses.
Check underneath and see if the linkage is all there between the pedal and clutch fork. If it's all there, pull the inspection cover on the bell housing and have a look.
Don, I got mine from eriksmilitarysurplus.com. They were $31.75 back in Febuary.
The TM has the directions for doing the zippered boots. It's pretty easy, you don't even need to jack it up. Here is the link to my thread on boot replacement...
Power steering pump has ATF in it (or hydraulic oil, it's red).
Got the truck running today. Didn't drive it because with the engine running the transmission fluid level is low. It does move in forward and reverse so I'll add some Dexron tomorrow and take a ride.
