I'll see how it drives. If I decide to change it, I won't be wasting 10 gallons of Dexron to flush it. I'll get out whatever pumps out and fill it up from there. In 6 months I'll do it again and call it good.
It's nice and clean and looks like 15W40. It feels and smells like engine oil; it's not burnt. I could be wrong, but I remember Dexron as being more or less red.
Haven't run it yet, I need to replace batteries. I'll find out if it works next week.
Has anybody found engine oil used in the TH400 transmission of their CUCV instead of Dexron? I know they use engine oil in some of the big truck automatics but I didn't expect to find it in a CUCV.
It sounds like the alternator is going full field. It would have a high current output unless there is an internal problem. If you have a clamp on amp meter, put it on the heavy output wire and see how many amps are being drawn. You can use an in-line amp meter if you don't have a clamp type...
I got my paid in full invoice last week and the contact number has a 602 area code (AZ). I figure it's the generic GL number. I get on chat with Heidi (she gets around) and she confirms the number. It seems that the GL reps have cell phones with AZ area codes. Go figure....:?

The Teflon plate goes on the trailer. There's a hole in the middle the king pin goes through and the retaining ring holds the plate to the king pin. If you are going to couple and un-couple a lot you can put counter sunk screws around the edge of the disc and fasten it to the trailer to keep...
The Teflon plates are the way to go; no mess. They are about $20 at Weldon truck parts. Make sure you get the retaining ring with it. In a pinch you can use a poly mud flap.
When are you taking it for a test drive with the trailer? We need to take pictures and video of the maiden voyage.
