Spark Plug
Just bumping a 'What is this' thread instead of starting a new one. Seemed like a good plan.
I know that it's a spark-plug, the box says aircraft, searches say it's aircraft. I found some 1946 Nasa data, a few for sale but the info is limited.
Just wondering if anyone has seen...
Welcome to the green herding and hoarding hobby and Steel Soldiers. The local MVPA boys and those kids with green iron that do not belong to the MVPA show up near your place a few times a year.
Some of the coolest collectors live real close and are known to keep Harriers on their front lawns as...
The deuce got stuck the ford got stuck the dodge got stuck then the chev showed up
Three trucks can pull out a stuck deuce https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPooUvhf3yE
You can Bob it and pull it backwards, slight language warning https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1i1NMgdFayI
If you lived up here...
Look at all the accessories she wears man.
It was great watching this from the start to first parade and those earrings and high heels set Zelda apart from the rest.
What is it like shifting on the move with the ancient transmission? Thanks again for the pics, that's one attractive lady.
G749 Parts Preservation
We had some great help at the G749 farm over the weekend from a couple of Steel Soldier members. Once again, a toast to Steel Soldiers for the cool electronic way to link up with good folk.
We got trucks moved, fuel filters changed, timing adjusted on Goose, M211 fuel...
G749 Parts
You have done a pile of work on the G749 Crossover doc so, thank you and a toast.
We're going to need it! Got a sea-can emptied and started putting shelves back in so it's almost time to fill them up. Got a few close ups on the G749 Preservation Thread and we're going to try...
Edmonton
........welcome to Edmonton and now you're in for a ride. Our local MVPA kids meet at 1200hrs, that's noon, lunchtime and 12 o'clock every Saturday at 149St and 118Ave NW Wendy's. We sit in the corner and can take up to 15 seats.
Most days green iron arrives and our 1 hr meetings...
Pto
I get excited when I see M135 and decontamination in the same sentence but I don't know how that would fit an M135....yet.
I'll post a pic of the schematic of #7412710 - Power-take-off out of the SNL G749 (M135) parts manual.
Did you mean M35 decon' unit?
Not sure why this is making me smile.......... Just have a feeling you're going to teach us some lessons and I wish I could follow you around the garage for a while.
Could be the mystery of not knowing what the end result is going be so thanks for posting the build and giving up some photos.
Congrats on the fix. .......and it's only May 11th, an early fix almost never happens
Are we seeing wear in parts, was it an original casting problem or something else?
Just wondering if I can tweak things to avoid that from happening.
We drive these around the farm and besides maintenance, arm strong steering in tight areas and soft ground is tough. The good thing is a healthy transmission will pull loaded sea-cans and dead firetrucks in low range so saving an Early Deuce with a good trani makes for lots of farm fun. Some...
I never ask why I meet someone at the time that I meet them but I believe I know why I met Gunfreak25 when I did.
I was working on the M135, reading twice as much as I normally would and looking for those mentors that already had a lifetime of experience on the G749. Motivation is hard to...
Will the 302 fit? I'd give up a 'take-out' motor for that project. Even consider the 6 hour hike to the Canada border.
Hope it works out with the 270 but it's here if you need it!
Aye Captain, don't know how kids born in the 80's and 90's are doing it. Sorry to hear that the plans are changing, but they do....then your children turn twenty......money doesn't flow out of the milk carton anymore....and you start again.
I'll pasture it for you until you can get back at it...
G749 Parts
Hit the brother load, not quite the mother load.
These parts sit up north in trailers and I saw Moose, Deer as well as Willys, CJ-5 and 6x6 written on a pile of NOS and used stock. This might be the year where I help the owners dig more out but for now I grabbed some G749 gear.
I...
I'm away from the trucks for a few days and May 12th is comin'.
Have you looked into the suggestion that other governors fit that compressor? Had another mechanic looking at the truck and he's also sure they're replaceable with modern gear. I have not done this so it will be good to nail down...
Had to share this so a bump for shed and door design.
We were at a family hall party, standing around with some family female girls dreaming about our future needs for a pole shed. Always wanted that 10,000 sq. ft. warehouse but I need about 2500 sq.ft and they need some roof area for trailer...
CDN Trucks
Welcome to the history, education, entertainment, weather and health hub of Steel Soldiers. Just saw a real nice green pick-up down the block and the owner had no issues with import. Eddy's the guy though, unless you WANT to stop at one.:-D:-D:-D:-D You will have a fleet.
If you can...
