Get the HF 1" socket set and 3/4" impact wrench. I just bought the $100 impact, you see it on sale for ~$90 once in a while. Get a 3/8" air hose to go with it because the big impacts use a lot of air.

Since I got the M818 I've cleaned, touched up the paint, changed the oil and filter, and changed the coolant over to Fleetguard ELC. Installed new wiper blades. Added Betts mud flap hangers and mud flaps. Changed a couple of pinion seals and rebuilt the transfer case air cylinder.

Replacing the pinion seal is not that hard. I got my seals from bigmikem35a2 on Ebay for $15.95 each. I would buy a couple because if one is bad the others are probably not far behind. I have replaced 2 on my M818.

You can use a crescent wrench and wriggle it to tighten the jaw down on the fitting. I had to do that to replace the rubber brake lines on my deuce. The flare wrench just started to round the brake line fitting.

You have to buy a wreck to get the data plate and logs for the airframe and then you can "rebuild it with other parts". The components have no serial numbers so you are SOL there. You could try and use the component numbers off of a salvage part but I would not do that. You could probably find a...
