My truck tried to start itself!?

Have you taken a good look at your battery cables? I have seen it many times that the cables are corroded inside the plastic. Also make sure that all the connections are clean and tight. This includes both ends of the cable. An often overlooked area is the attachment points for the ground...

My truck tried to start itself!?

The #12 fuse is just for the 24v side of the voltmeter and GEN2 relay. The two relays next to the starer relay are for the voltmeter and GEN2 I have created a new thread for the fuse box http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?132309-CUCV-Fuse-Box-Layout

    CUCV Fuse Box Layout

There are some errors in the TM diagram for the CUCV fusebox. I will attempt to point them out as I find them Here is a "clean" fuse box with all the proper fuses and labels ITEM 2 - Hazard Flasher 3 - not used except for the M1010. The M1010 uses it for Ambulance Accessories 4 - no...

    CUCV Fuse Block

From what I can tell the CUCV fuse box is wired differently than the civvy units. There are many things that share fuses. Did you know the headlight fuse feeds about 4-5 other fuses? The best bet to go back stock is to buy a wiring harness from a parts truck. There are a few members that sell...

    Gen 1 question

Missed your post. more than likely it is a bad voltage regulator. I would suggest a rebuild of the alternators since you do not know their status.

Prepping to buy a Deuce for farm use. Couple Questions..

Welcome to the site. There is a member that moved a Corvette in the bed of his Deuce. Made it from Seattle to Oklahoma City. As already posted the tractor may have the center of gravity too high. I would recommend a loading ramp and not stand alone ramps. The bed is too high and too many...

    U-2 Ground Ops

"The U-2 is very sensitive to crosswinds which, together with its tendency to float over the runway, makes the aircraft notoriously difficult to land. As it approaches the runway, the cushion of air provided by the high-lift wings in ground effect is so pronounced that the U-2 will not land...

"newer" or "civi" glow plug controler...?

With enough money and time, anything is possible In order to convert the CUCV GP system to the civvy controller, it will take some effort. And I would ask why? Now on the civvy trucks, the 1982-1984 GM diesels used a round style controller. They where prone to failure. The The 1985-2000ish...
