    My first heavy truck xm215

I have a 14" hand held, 2-stroke chop saw that would make 2 'clean' cuts through the box in less then an hour. If you don't have one, a rental might speed up the process. We have fabricated C-cans for the local Tac team and time is money. I'm sitting here all jealous that you've got 14' of...

M135 in seemingly excellent condition... Good deal?

Good on ya not givin' up that auction info. We paid more for a cab and chassis but also bought 3 trucks for half that price. Paid 4G for my first runner that was built on my Dad's birthday. Tough call, they can be a miserable, bad investment or an amazing truck that some fool will pay anything...

Lubrication chart You pulled out UPS and if ya' didn't get pictures you need to do it all over again....we want to see it! Porkys got er', access to the info in the Manuals is everything. Just looking over the lube chart in the attached picture should drive us all to the manual store. I'm...

Hood Support Here's a close up of your broken support. I don't have a spare but can get one up north if it's a part you want. Cutting up a box is hard on some guys so I put up a puppy picture so we can deal with this better. What about taking a 2' section out of the center? You could still...

    G749 preservation

Here's a past thread on the G749 Fording kit. Not sure why you guys want to ruin a perfectly good GMC turning it into a Ford but it's your truck. Go to you favorite search engine, type in "M135 Fording Kit steel soldiers" and you'll find some links...

    G749 preservation

G-749 Paulin Still missing the G-749 end curtains but did find an old cover full of holes. Looks like it's been on there since day one. Spent some time tweaking timing, pulled a couple plugs that still look brand new and re-gapped the points which seemed to help. Goose the deuce loves 50mph.

Hood Support I'll try for some better pictures if you need them but that funky piece on the hood is part of the hood support. It's from group 1703, part number 8332633. The hinged portion must be made of spring steel because mine takes a ton of abuse. There is a dowel on the end of the rod...

    My MV My Home

Edmonton Winter Every year we get around 3' of snow and we don't like to drive on it so we haul it to dump sites. A fleet of Cats spends the winter seeing how high we can pile it. Today, Goose' the Deuce and I decided to go visit and one of the Cat operators came over to see her and...

    I just bought a M135CDN not running

They're not real? It's all we got man. Do a search for "military trucks for sale" and begin to drool. If you head to Indianapolis you will find lots of green iron along the way.

    Engine oil??

Porkysplace's link to the TM's didn't work for me so I'll try........ http://www.jatonkam35s.com/jatonkaM135-211sTMdownloadpage.htm Below 32F I drain motor and trani and use SAE 10 wt. as per section 2 Lubrication and Painting, starting on page 117, para 69. to page 152. It's a good section to...

    G749 preservation

Butch, that just sucks! It's also ironic. A front end loader/tractor tried to get me in 90' and ended up parking on my right foot. It may be a prerequisite of G749 owners to be run over before retirement. A sweet lady friend of mine reminds me to look in the gratitude jar once in a while. I...

    G749 preservation

Spring MV options Killing time with scale RC MV's. The concrete wizard mounted a camera in his T-28 and we'll 'cement' a deal to get some video up, sometime. The new 'public' technology allows him to wear a head-set and fly the RC from the pilots perspective. The camera is built on a swivel...

G-749 Re-engine If you're carrying powder you may be interested in the jet mounted version.:-D Gunfreak25 has a thread going on for a 6.2 conversion, I've got a 400 horse 350 I'll try some day and if you dig deep there are some great stories from some of the G749 pioneers on every combination...

For a purchase, http://www.portrayal.com/ On line http://www.jatonkam35s.com/jatonkaM135-211sTMdownloadpage.htm I can smell the ocean when I look at that truck. Let us know what you need to get her in the sun.

    My first heavy truck xm215

Somebody went shopping! That hood is missing the big crease across the middle. Great find, looks pretty straight. When are you painting it and did you nail down a color yet? What's the story, how did you find 60 year old truck parts laying around Washington?

    XM211 Recovery

That's a "Storage Wars" buy? I missed a M207 CDN at an auction with no box, wrong fuel tank and beat to death that went for $1,600.00. Then I bought 3 G749's for $1,600.00 so value is in the pocket of the buyer. Depending on transmission, it could be turned into a motor-pool parade unit. At...

    1952 XM211

Oh ya, another gem. Welcome to Steel Soldiers and all the challenges that come with the X in experimental GMC. If you do a re-build or a restoration on it, start a thread with a title specific and unique to the truck, here in the Early Deuce Forum and get us pictures. (Something like 1952 XM211...

    First Post from Canada!!!

Welcome to Steel Soldiers. Most of the guys have the MV / Wife balance all figured out and it seems to work well for most of them. They put their wives on one side of the scale, put the MV's on the other......and when the wife gets too heavy, the scale tips and she slides right off. Then, for...
