Broke Down in James Town
Is that a country song? Broke Down in James Town, dog ran away....
Looks like Sean is 94 miles West of Fargo ND in Jamestown ND. There are 5000 things working on the truck and a few that are not.
In hopes that Sean's got coverage on his phone, I'm sure he'll check in...
Psi
Never more then Recommended PSI Stamped on tire.
I mean, you can but you can eat every type of mushroom once too......but you shouldn't.
That Rim tire assembly isn't the official 'widow maker' but can kill as quickly if handled improperly. Just a safety note to consider, the assembly has...
G749 Brake light switch
I don't see a part number in the parts book but you might find it on a quick scan through the TM's......if you need to.
MilitaryTrucks.ca - Welcome!
hit M135 and the bottom of the page.
I may have salvaged one but can't check until tomorrow night. I can let you know...
G749 Air Pak schematic
Here's a schematic from the Levy Book.
Actually a couple of schematics to try the macro out on pic 1.
Gunfreak, does she need a new Diapharm? "P"
Plugged fuel "Filters"
Ironic Bump on this post.
After hours of -Break In- the M135 'limped' back to the shop.
She had similar symptoms and would catch full RPM range parked but under load would hesitate as the RPM's reached peak.
The fuel tank was filled to 3/4 for the previous trip and...
5 ton air pak piston swap
I Must read slowly....
Gunfreak......you typed " 5 ton piston swap quite easily "...
Is this a permanent, maintainable solution?
Air Pak Re-build
I'll call Brian to see what's available.
Gunfreak, you have a good handle on the pieces that failed on your pak.
Can you get me a pic or a schematic for parts number and description....you know how I like pictures? Is there a pic in our Levy manual? Left mine in the shop...
M135 Ride Along
After a few hundred miles of testing, re-filling and re-torquing the M135 was ready for a 2 minute speed run.
Thanks to Gunfreak I grabbed the camera for a video.
........come along for the ride.
US military pics
I agree and we think alike. I had the neat opportunity to tour Jacks in Dec. and could have spent a week.
Jack is welcoming and informative and had no issues with us gently poking around the gold.
There is so much to see in that area with Monthan Davis, Pinal Air Museum...
pics
Thanks for the kind words, hard to get bad shots when armed with a digital camera in one of the most beautiful Countries on the planet.
Most of the pics come from a tour Gunfreak took me on around Yuma.
Cloud Museum
Yuma Prooving Grounds
The Legion by the Gunrange
The rest of the pics...
211 Brake system
The top 3 lines on the air cylinder are air lines.
If you have fluid coming out of the top line..... item "C" on page 46, then it's by-passing inside the air cylinder. Fluid in an airline, returning to the MC could cause overfill appearance. Air in fluid, fluid in...
Thems the brakes
My M135 is silent once the key is off.......so far. Air is not supposed to "leak out".
The compressor fills the air tanks, which applies additional force in the "air/ hydraulic cylinder" once the brakes are applied.
My M135 brakes stop the truck with very little pedal...
Tire Balance
Some of the experienced pilots of the 211's suggest front tire balance. The
wobble's very hard on parts right up to the nut on the steering wheel so hopefully there's an easy fix.
Swap tires around front to back with the best on the front.
Remove the large brick someone hid in...
Brake troubleshoot
Without actually seeing it, and picturing lines disconnected, it's time to shut er' down.
I drove my 12,000 lb truck all day and can't imagine brake failure........without a stuck throttle at the same time.
You'll need to get underneath ....take pics..., trace all the lines...
Torque Rods
I'm reminded again that I may have 30 good summers left and I'm goin' out smilin'. Just enjoying the moment and wishing the same insanity for all.
We are a few weeks away from accessing the trucks. If you need things before the end of April.......git er done. It warmed up today...
