I submitted an "engineering request" to Freightliner with the vin and money to review the truck's specs and they gave permission for the rerate. Allison was capable of rerating, but didn't want to due to liability, so with Freightliner's approval they did it. Note: this is on a M915A4R2 which is...
I bought those and they really don't work as well as the plastic bushings. The eyelets are too large resulting in slack in the linkage then the door release doesn't operate as it should. I'm staring at a bag of them on my workbench right now with mixed feelings.
This. I file multiple SF-97 to Texas titles monthly and if they aren't stamped "off-road only" and are capable of highway travel (i.e. not equipment like a loader, dozer, etc) then you get a clean title and register it as you see fit.
Do yourself a favor and go with the Former Military Vehicle registration. It's not antique, it's FMV. As long as you're not using it as your daily driver, commercial use, and it retains it's military appearance you're good.

I don't say this often but he's an idiot. Don't let him near anything with oil in it: engine, transmission, or even a bottle of olive oil. The Army has dipsticks on nearly everything and it's on the passenger side near the starter (both engine and transmission). Altitude won't be...
If the transmission was slipping you'd be able to rev the throttle/rpms and not get any acceleration out of it if not loose some. When moving and the rpms staying the same we are looking at a different problem so lets start with the simple stuff first. I'd recommend start with your fuel filter...
Would you care to do some swapping? I've got the fiberglass setup from a M928. You'll still have to cut down the uprights but at least you'll have the correct elbows and bows.
It's a fuel delivery issue but for sanity sake take a look at the exhaust for wet stacking since you've already serviced the filters. If the exhaust is carboned up it could impede air flow causing it to burn rich then choke out. There may be enough flow to idle it but at higher rpm it can...
I noticed that too when speaking of the M936A2 specifically but of a standard cargo it's much more in line and fits with the MO of: tires, paint, hoses, etc treatment that more trucks seems to have gotten.
I used my google-fu and found 2 hard copies on ebay. They're not worth $75 like I said in my original post. I had a member reach out to me and linked me a google library file that was this TM scanned so I have it now for free. I've yet to find a -10 for these trucks.. if one exists.
I have the...
I had a friend come over this weekend and twisted my arm  to turn some wrenches. I felt like taking some personal time and fiddle with the M757 to see if she would breathe fire. She has the rare LDS-2 so there's some funky modifications involved but at her core she's still a multifuel. We...
Looking for a physical or digital copy of the TM 9-2320-230-34P for the M656, M757, M791 5 ton 8x8 Trucks. I've searched high and low to find all manuals for this series of truck and lack this one. I've only found two physical copies on ebay but $75 is a bit much.
I believe I have the earliest made FMTV to date as it predates the "M" nomenclature and is dated 11-92. It's an M1084 or would eventually become known as one.
I had a customer call and ask for a demonstration of what an M931A2 can do this week, he wanted to move a building. I asked for details and he's in the premade housing market for hunting lodges and game ranches. We hooked the tractor up to their specialized hydraulic sled and pulled the 90,000...
You are correct, GL did it and so did GP. GP has tried to cut back on issuing dealer title transfer forms as of late and I called them out on it after receiving 4 SF-97s and no dealer title transfer forms. Texas never has accepted their "Notarized Transfer Form" as proof and quite frankly anyone...
