It is not just Facebook, there are a TON of fake web sites out there, If I have no experience the first thing I do is simply search ( is "the web site" legit) there are several scam detectors that will pop up and rate the sites and there are allot that fail the scam detector, if they pass and...
I always thought that was funny, the V belt trucks that could use the quick connects normally do not have them and the serpentine truck that do not need them usually suffer from leaking quick connects which is their downside.
Check to see if fuel runs out of the water drain when running and cold, then try it again when it is running "weak" if there is no flow close the valve immediately as it is likely you will be pulling in air.
It does sound like a fuel restriction issue.
Get a laser thermometer and see if the brakes are getting hot, also have you rehabbed the fuel system? clean tank? change the filter? replace the lift pump?
Does fuel run out of the fuel filter water drain when it is running?
Also when you lose power try loosening the fuel cap and see if that...
I am curious how you know it is a M998? does not seem to be listed on the data plates.
I would say if it has a air lift rear bumper it is a "heavy variant" after rebuild, maybe they did not have any applicable data plates available.
Yes they gave it a new serial number, the MWO was for a bumper reinforcement for the 1097/1097A1 and some of the A2 trucks.
I would say it is possible they rebuilt it to 1097, heavy variant specs but did not change the GVWR for some reason, does it look like they possibly stamped over the...
Here is a link to the TMs, the first 7 should be downloaded as they are the most significant ones applicable to your M998

Well, let's see.
You said M998 not M998A1 so the UOC (usable on code) for the M998 is H13 (all models applicable to a particular parts TM is listed a few pages after the TOC, table of contents)
After downloading the parts TM which is free here on this site and you confirm the UOC then you look...
It does appear that the TCM is not turning the MIL light on by what you describe as long as you have confirmed continuity on 567A from the light plug to the TCM, I would say for now as long as the transmission seems to be working correctly go ahead and ignore the missing light and continue to...
Here is a link to the TMs, you should download the first 7 on the list to start with.

Your R1 will have the same UOC (used on code) as the M1097A1 which is AVY for most parts identification.
You should have changed all the fluids and filters the very first thing, most of the R1s have been sitting for decades.
We need more information, are you in high range or 4L?
Is the transmission shifting? If you open the water drain valve on the fuel filter does fuel run out while running?
One...
