It will flash 12 three times to show it is in diagnostic mode, then if there are no codes it will flash 12 a forth time and then stop, if there are codes it will flash each code three times after the first three 12s then when there are no more codes it will flash 12 one last time then stop.
I...
You can wire directly to a switch if it is heavy enough, but why not actually troubleshoot and fix the problem?
Have you pulled the inst. panel and checked the switch and resistor for voltage?
That 12V does not come from the TCM, it comes from the trans relay.
The transfer case lock light has nothing to do with the trans light, it is run by 24V from the inst. power
David, If you do not have 12V to the trans light connector it is not the TCM.
Your truck is shifting so it is a little premature to be looking for a TCM
Also make sure the continuous 12V is applied to the TCM, there are two 12V feeds one is switched and one is continuous.
That would be wire 537D and pin Z on the TCM connector.
Do you have the trans supplement?
Did you let the codes finish?
It will flash 12 three times then give the codes, if there are no codes it will flash 12 four times then stop.
EDIT, if there are codes it will flash 12 three times, then each code three times then after all the codes are flashed it will flash 12 one more time then...
The most common rule is any vehicle can be driven in any other state by a driver licensed and a resident of the state the vehicle is legally registered in (reciprocal agreements), a driver licensed and a resident of a state that is driving a "prohibited" vehicle registered in another state is...
That valve making noise is rather normal, some folks go to great lengths to make it quiet including wrapping it in rubber which I would be afraid would make it overheat.
it will be hot as the hydraulic fluid from the brake/steering system is constantly flowing through it, 180 deg or so would be...
You have already identified you do not have 12V at wire 657B so that is where you need to concentrate your investigation, make sure you have a good ground on your meter when checking voltage on 657B
It is easy enough to see if you have ground on 57T and 599A-B you just need a test light or meter, it ether has ground or not. the trans will not shift if 57T or 599A-B does not have ground.
I do not see a 57C but other than that you are correct, you need to figure out why you do not have 12V on 657B when the ign. is on (DO NOT forget to unplug the glow plug temp sending unit while troubleshooting the trans)
657B is the female (protected) terminal in the plug that connects to the...
I installed a 6l80 in a M998 the at the time had a 6.2L and had no issues running in 6th accept going into a headwind, this was a helmet top that weighed about 8K of course it is pretty flat around here on the coastal plains, it could also be set up to be able to switch to manual shift mode and...
I have not actually listed it, I am hoping to get my knees replaced this year and then I hope this project will become more appealing to me, I am building this thing to drive being the only fully street legal "sand rail" in Texas, (apparently) but as it stands now getting in and out is an...
