I wish that I could run into a deal like that here in Florida. The prices here are the same problem as you have found, in the $6k range. With the addition of a spare engine & a C turbo, it would be a done deal as long as the title is good for $3.5k to $4k for me. Let us know how it turned out...
That heli will fly outdoors in light wind & once you get the hang of it; you can make it really haul tail. Put a 200 mAh battery in her & she will fly for 10 minutes without a recharge. Don't run into solid objects with it & it will last a long time. Enjoy!
I had never seen a mule until my first year in 08 @ Knob Creek, there were 3 or 4 hauling stuff to folks trucks. Guys in gillie suits or gals in camo as drivers, fit the mood then. There was a guy with a flatbed selling them for $5K in running condition, but very few takers due to the ammo sales...
I have twelve single rotor helicopters that are Collective Pitch & Fixed Pitch systems & most are fly barred. The coaxial birds are for beginners who are starting out, as you learn to fly better; you go fixed pitch, then collective pitch.
It's all about having fun, how ever you look @ it...
Those little infared transmitters are fun to play with, but they don't work outside in the sunlight or the wind for that matter. The Chinhook in 2.4Ghz is much more fun, flys out side & you can get it for cheaper than the above listed price. Keep it coaxial & most anyone can fly, drop to a set...
The work is part of the fun. If you never had to work on it, it would be a Toyota or an Isuzu & made in some furrin land. American made in a time gone by with specs from the military makes it unique along with a few dozen other reasons.
This doesn't count as what I did to my Deuce this weekend, but I did go look @ a half dozen deuces to try & find the one I want to buy...........getting closer to that day when the drive home is @ hand! I'm not that picky, just trying to fit the condition of the Deuce to the price tag!
Hey, it required less work to get it half done, than to do it correctly. You have uncovered a major problem there, luckily before some serious damage was done to the rim or the truck. That is one of the reasons that the walk around inspection is a mandentory task, rather than if you feel like...
Mine ran well as far as the engine was concerned, pumping fuel from the belly tank. I never tried from the aux input as it wasn't needed. Now generating 220vac single phase was a different animal from 120vac single phase for some reason on this particular unit.
You may need to get a TM on this...
You really need to drive one before you purchase it! This will be a test drive you will never forget. With 260 acres, you should't have to worry about room to turn around or running over/into anybody. Another upside is no insurance or tag needed while you are on your property!
Like a kid in the candy store with only a nickel, I was invited to view a collection of green iron that just left me speechless today! Gotta go home & search the cushions for more nickels! [thumbzup]
Headed to look @ a few more Deuces tomorrow, hope its a bit warmer than today.....46....all day. I am getting a good education, just looking thru all the pages of postings of all the different aspects of buying & owning green iron! Now to put the small amout of knowledge to a good use!
Thanks for the pics of the frame, now I know what I was offered in a M35a2 deal. Nice frame with no bed, looks good to the uninformed new buyer, but not worth a large amount of money!
With all the experianced help here, from guys in the know, I am following their advise as to a first buy. By not listening, you may be less than happy with your purchase. I admit, that I really have only a clue as to what is going on in sales, not the big picture.
