Friday starts another in house run & look/see session on a local Florida Deuce. Looks nice from what I can see from the picts, as long as I don't have to push it home. This will have to be the last post here as I know the newbs need space!
It was 42 this morning, after 75 & rain yesterday. Its spring time & the weather is always changing. I'd rather it be cold or cool for traveling, than 98 in the blazing sun. I may live in Florida, but I never get used to the heat & humidity!
If I had this info a month or so ago, there would be a recovery Duece sitting in my driveway now. The learning curve is steep for us new to the obsession...I mean hobby...errrr Green Iron Disease!
I am by far, no expert on your truck problems, but it sounds like you lost oil to the turbo & that your fuel might have been turned to high for the conditions you were running in. I'll let others who are more experianced try to help you with your problem. Good luck with getting her home!
From this posting, I gather that trying to repair brake system parts is a bad idea & replacing these parts is nothing short of doing the right thing to prevent any small or large accidents from happening. Thanks, I'll look for a dual line brake system truck!
That is a nice well designed truck, well thought out! I hope you have a place to store it out of the weather when you are not using it. When a good plan comes together, is what it seems so far! Keep us all informed as to how things go!
I hope this is not the wrong place to post this, but my page count is gettting high. I'm on the trail of another Deuce that might panout since all the rest have not; no more posts about it till I get more concrete info...........but preliminary toes in the water look really good, & here in Florida!
You can't just buy one. A friend of mine bought three from an auction central Georgia. He hooked his trailer, 16 footer, but I don't know which one, to his Duece, loaded his Chevy truck on the trailer & went to pick his new toys up. Three trailers would not fit on the 16 footer, so he hooked one...
Welcome from Sunny Florida, good luck with what you decide to purchase. The info from previous posters is very good to get you pointed in the right direction!
Paint the bed green & you have a unique truck, unlike anybody else's. Paint the truck white & you will have a truck that looks like it went thru a military to civilian corporate conversion, like we see in the oil fields. By the way, nice looking job on all your hard work! Post a picture when you...
Thanks guys, I'm still looking as the last truck I looked @ didn't work out. I would like to give a big thank you to one of our members, Floridianson, for previewing & driving the truck since he was headed that way on other business. Never would I have thought that, there was a group of guys on...
Congrats on getting her home & getting to look her over seriously for the first time. Some surprises are good & some are not, make sure everything is okay as best you can before spinning her over initally. Good luck & remember the pics; we have faith in you!
Eagerly awaiting info on the Duece in NC as to whether to buy & do the long distance recovery,.............or not. I hate waiting on something I really want bad, gotta work on that one.
