Am I getting a good deal?

Would be the same size as the civy 6.2/6.5L so you should be able to get them locally.

Question about the alternator and the alternator regulator

That is shown in the attachment I posted

Question about the alternator and the alternator regulator

The IGN excites the alternator, the AC tap tells the EESS box the engine is running, the 14V tap goes to the connection between the batteries and the large insulated post on the alt goes to the 24V battery connection.

    Hmmwv brake repair questions

I have never worked on the HMMWV rear caliper but if it is like other parking brake/calipers that I have worked on one side will be clockwise and the other side counter clockwise.

    GM-7 Turbocharger

A compressor stall is a local disruption of the airflow in the compressor of a turbocharger. A stall that results in the complete disruption of the airflow through the compressor is referred to as a compressor surge.

They used that pump in tons of applications, with GM from early 80s until after 2010 in some applications even today, many others used it too including Mopar.

Anyone know this part number? My Left hand side is missing it

Not like it's an injection pump...

    IMHO not worth the effort

    Disassemble geared hubs

Do you have a machine shop near you, again I suggest having a pro remove and install the bearings. I have done it but cannot suggest my method to the general public.

My son found this HMMVW parked in a drivway in TX. Unusual

What is that in the garage??? looks almost as wide as a Humvee.

Get a "raw" Saginaw P series metric pump and swap over the pulley (has to be removed anyway to change the pump) and reservoir Something like this for say a mid 80s all the way to around 2000 C10 truck. The metric pump does not have a keyway for the pulley, the early P seris does and that is not...

    M1165a1 power steering and overheating

If the solenoid valve was bad unplugging the TDM would not have changed anything, time to look at the fan thermal switch, if you unplug it and the fan runs all the time the switch is bad.

The thing is your truck was rebuilt and given a new serial number, I think the 600XXX trucks started as A2 trucks, 196XXX and above, but not positive

If it has the reservoir on the pump it is just a plain ol Saginaw P series (metric) pump found on just about every 80s GM vehicle built. That would be for the trucks with V belts, if you have a remote reservoir pump with a serpentine belt then it is the later A2 version it is the later style...

    serpentine belts

Put together a post outlining the different belts and I will make it a sticky!!

    serpentine belts

Hopefully someone will chime in on the belt size 4" seems like quite a bit different than the stock belt.
  18. Mogman

    serpentine belts

I usually pick one of the smooth pulleys that go on the back of the belt, tensioner, water pump etc.
  19. Mogman

    serpentine belts

I do not think so, you have a solid pulley so I would expect the belt to be shorter than normal.

Turbo waste gate conversion to adjustable

That does not sound right, I cannot hear my waste gate opening, are you sure you are not hearing the fan kick in and out? EDIT, that would explain why you are hearing it under normal driving "flat" conditions, the waste gate only opens under heavy load.
