    Mounting 100A dual voltage

Will the 100A dual voltage Niehoff alternator fit the aluminum 60A mount? What about the 200A mount?? The parts TM lists only one mount for above 196XXX serial number, not sure what that split is about..

60 amp alternator bracket / broken bolt question

What bolt are you talking about? what we call the rear bracket (24) is bolted to a stud in the exhaust manifold (nut #25) Then there appears to be two styles of main mounting brackets, one uses two bolts (31 and 21) and the other uses a long through bolt instead (Also marked 21) It is very...

    HMMWV Exportation

Contact Retiredwarhorses IIRC he exports HMMWVs leaving it up to someone that knows the ropes is the way to go..

    Transfer case fluid

This is incorrect, the cooling fluid from the transmission goes through a closed loop (cooler) in the transfer case, the two fluids never mix unless the cooling loop in the transfer case is bad.

    Generator charging issue

Well it could just be the regulator, go through the troubleshooting steps. Not a bad idea for all of us to look at the harnesses on our alternators. Can you ID what pin that red wire goes to in the plug?

    Generator charging issue

As long as you have 24V at the ign/exciter terminal and the alt is turning there should be charging voltage. If that red wire shorted out it could have burned up the reg, alt or both. The only thing the PCB box does is control the exciter voltage on the 200A

    Smoke and Knock

The OP stated he replaced all the injectors and it did not change the issue, running at high idle would be the recommended course of action for a stuck lifter. Not to be confused with the common term in the diesel world where high idle is WOT without a load. Some form of oil treatment would also...

    STE/ICE connector

Well, he is correct that jpelc should list his want in the classified as it will get a different exposure, Wanted items do not require membership so they are free to all.

    STE/ICE connector

I think this thread has progressed correctly in the spirit of the rules, RWH brought up he had something that might work in the natural progression of the thread. I think jpelc has appropriately responded to this thread, despite what that old grumpy guy in Germany says

    Generator charging issue

Are you talking about the black wire that looks like it has been pulled out or the red wire that looks like it shorted to the shell? In any case go through the troubleshooting guide Coug posted, if the red wire did short to the shell something might have fried.

Does that plug into the diag port??? although $100 shipped seems a little high to look cool

    L5P in a REV truck?

I cannot see why any one would be rated higher than the other, everything is the same but for the ratio, they used higher ratio diffs on the higher rated trucks because of the piss poor power of the Detroit. (and the piss poor 1st gear ratio of the 4L80) I have used tunes up to 475 HP and have...

    Generator charging issue

I have never tried taking one of those connectors apart, I assume it is going to be a PITA

    Generator charging issue

YES, very doubtful de-greaser caused this issue though.

    L5P in a REV truck?

I am not familiar with the L5P or the 10 speed. If the 10 speed is longer or bigger (dia) than the 6 speed I would say that would likely be an issue. Other than that you may have to find some earlier components, one thing I had to use on the LMM was a LBZ oil fill tube as the LMM was too high...

    4L80e issues

I do not understand how you are focusing on the TPS, you are not getting TPS codes but are getting high ratio codes, add that to what you said about not being able to pull in 1st when hot I would suspect a slipping transmission. Have you changed the fluid and filter?

    4L80e issues

OK now I am totally confused, I just looked up error 87 and it is a high ratio error, nothing to do with the TPS One cause of a high ratio error is a slipping transmission which would be consistent with the transmission getting warm, (this would also seem to be consistent with not pulling in 1st...

    4L80e issues

Not sure where you got the "over 4.5v" The 5V supply voltage (wire 350) should be 4.9-5.2V Wire 359 is ground. Wire 355 the signal wire should go from about .5-4.5V If the pot was not noisy and just went to 3.whateverV it would not set a code, it would just affect shift points, the TCM would...

    4L80e issues

When testing an analog input (IE 1-5V etc) I find it much better to use an analog meter (Simpson 260) The TPS is just a variable resistor and all variable resistors, (also called rheostats and potentiometers) can get noisy, this can lead to a failure code. Everyone has heard a volume control on...

    4L80e issues

Curious, have you tried deoxit on all of the connector pins? With so many different codes I would start to suspect oxidized connector pins. The troubleshooting guide outlines how to test the TPS, no other measurements should be necessary.
