What did you do to your deuce this week?

Well if the drum is off center or warped like mine, it won't take long to show itself at .015".

    AN/VAS-5 help

I bet that viewer wasn't cheap... You would be wise to keep an eye on EBay for the cables.

    Steering wheel cracking

You can paint it to keep the ultraviolet light from getting at it, that may work.

All you can really do is replace it.

    Picking up my M818

No, it says right there that the valve is located on the floor by the drivers seat. Re-read that and think about it. They would never put an electric fuel selector on these trucks.

    M35a2 motor swap

I wouldn't trust the harbor freight stand to hold up a Briggs+ Stratton. I like having all my toes and both my legs.

    Can't mod the driver

The best thing you can learn with a deuce is to JUST STAY OUT of the MUD. Unless you just like tearing up parts and having to work on your truck all the time.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Zipper boots are a waste of effort. They were meant to be a field repair item, not permanent.

    D-Max turbo on a multi-fuel?

Yeah, working at the dealerships we were constantly replacing variable vane turbos. Luckily for the owners they were all still under warranty. Usually around 20,000 miles, but some as low as 12,000. They are expensive too! Just sell the one you have, you'll make good money. Then buy a REAL...

    Sabatoge or Stupidity

As long as you don't neglect the filter changes in lieu of drain and fill then yes it is nice. Drain plug should just be used to make the service less messy. I would also suggest fluid and filter changes at 10-15000 mile intervals if you do much in town driving at all.

    Sabatoge or Stupidity

You don't need a longer dipstick either. You wouldn't believe how many people swap to a deep pan, put a longer dipstick in, and then end up running low on fluid all the time because they have no sense.

    Sabatoge or Stupidity

If you have the filter setup in yours where the filter actually bolts to he valve body there is no reason for a longer tube. The fill level is going to be the same even with a deeper pan, just more fluid below that line. Only reason for the longer tube would be if you have the valve body that...

    Sabatoge or Stupidity

I doubt the trans is hurt. TH400 is near bulletproof. But if you need a new one PM member TXfirefighter , I just dropped off a full takeout 1009 drivetrain with him and I don't think he needs the transmission.

    Picking up my M818

You can call me if you have any problems. I just made that trip, but I did it all in one shot and with a side trip or two added in there. 337-401-2470. Give me a shout when you get on the west side of Louisiana if you want to have lunch or something. After that I'll come help you wherever you...

    Spring Starter

Forgive the snark here, but why not just buy two new batteries and be good to go for a few more years? They don't have to be military batteries.

IP problem with my new Deuce...need advice

That's pretty cool. I love history. And I love keeping history alive.

Deuce Over Heated Today. Low On Coolant?

No, the multifuel is not a wet sleeve engine.

    Stuck clutch pedal

Yeah that's better than pulling the transmission isn't it?
