I think that's going to be a matter of what you're going to tow with it. It needs to be far enough back for your trailer to clear the corners of the truck in sharp turns, but far enough forward for anything you might tow with the pintle hitch to clear the receiver.
That was no help at all, was...
MV night at the dairy bar?
So if there was a date picked for a bunch of MVs to show up:
1. Would the parking lot hold many at once?
2. Would the dairy bar owner like it?
3. Could the parking lot support the weight of the bigger trucks like 5 and 10 ton trucks?
4. Most important: do they have...
Same here. Once you get the hang of it, it's just about as fast as an automatic packer.
If you don't like the mess, wear a pair of non-latex exam gloves. I've found the latex gloves tear real quick when exposed to petroleum products.
I haven't done it yet, but I was going to take out the passenger seat, the floor sheet metal, and then roll a hydraulic engine hoist through the passenger side door. Then set it down onto a dolly.
That was about as believable as the corn they were eating actually came out of that thing. What a pile of junk.
At least they didn't really hurt the truck that bad. It's still pretty much intact.
I'll give them $100 for it.
I agree with the others, pop the top and have a look inside. Then take it from there.
On the drain plug: The hole you're talking about under the bell housing is normal. There should be another plug right beside it. ( see pic ) If you are going to be fording deep water, you would move that plug...
Wow!
Glad you came out of it OK. It's a shame about the truck though.
If the frame is OK, I'd go for the body tub swap. You can decide how perfect you want it to be, and make it so.
You might consider taking it to a frame shop, just to get it checked out. I'm not sure what they would charge...
Local governments are on the approved screening list. It's likely they didn't pay anything for it.
Our 2 M35A2s came from the KSP. They had screened them a few years earlier but didn't use them much. One is in great shape, the other.....well it needs some help.
They also sold a slew of M1009s...
You guys are being way to pessimistic. With the right kind of modifications, you can pull anything with anything.
