Nice! Good news, new seat bottom material is readily available. I recovered mine with the recently surplussed NOS cover and it looks spectacular and above all else, very comfy.
OK, sounds great.............however, if I were you and you were me, I would have simply said "My truck and tool box, don't like it, go pound sand" lOL
To answer the title question, it is this way likely to get troops to service the truck. Unlike road tractors, these are not oil bath bearings. As such, if it's time for the drums to come off, it's likely time to inspect and pack the bearings.
Well, besides all the things you mention, I find the step better used as a ..........step! All the years of driving the M275A2 which doesn't have a can mount there, acclimated me to using the whole step. I too, have a 100 gallon transfer tank I use. What sucks is when the Fillrite pump stops...
Ballast is good. For a 6x6 , ballast as far back as the bed allows is even better. Not only does it add the weight you need in the back, it unloads the high ground pressure of the front tires.
I have never liked that location. If it's just water, add some racks to the back of the rear mudflaps. I stopped storing fuel in plain sight a while back.
I've been pondering the "basic" term since it was introduced into this debate. Basic refers to a basic model of something. A more deluxe model would have extra options added to the basic model. An example that comes to mind is a Camaro and a Camaro SS. When dealing with these trucks, the A...
Clear logic such as referring to something as something else that doesn't exist? By this logic I should be teaching my kids to count 0000000001, 000000002, 00000003 and so forth. All words don't have the same amount of letters and folks are getting by. All numbers don't have the same amount...
They are what the data plate says with field modifications. This is clearly discussed in the mil standard. With that said, if it's your truck, you can call it a Buick if you like!
IIRC some of these were dual voltage and used on the HMMWV. Is there an NSN on it? Might could look for a TM on it!
Edit; NSN is 2920015669918 and was used on an MRAP. Single voltage unit.
I bought a sack of these from Memphis Equip PA location many years ago on Ebay. There was a bunch and I was only into them for a half a dollar. Gave tons away. As mentioned, no resistance, you could add a bunch of circuits. Mine were 14GA too. The only thing left for packards in my...
I am quite certain that Gunnermac was selling those same seats at the GA Rally last year. I looked at them but didn't sit on them. Perhaps some folks here did buy them.
