My Friend Ken's Photos
My friend Ken was there Saturday and took some photos. I thought some were particularly artistic. I just got them today because he spent a lot of time post processing for some effects. They are copyrighted so please don't download from here. If you want one, please...
From Just North of the GWB
While we were setting up for the Sussex show, my friend Peter went to the convent just north of the George Washington Bridge and shot these from the Hudson River Palisades just setting up for the turn at the Tappan Zee Bridge. He was upset that the 1st (2) weren't as...
Look Around the Field Early Sunday a.m.
Just random pictures of the field after I got pictures of my truck. I realized could get most of the others by turning and clicking. There are also a few while giving rides. There were also more vehicles on the field on Saturday - the Howitzer for...
Canvas/Oil Cloth Boot Source?
"...How about good ole canvas, greased up to keep it waterproof and flexible, and your local cobbler with the right sewing machines to stitch um up for ya..." BoatCarpenter
Well, my curb side boot [rubber, zippered, Clark Trucks] popped last night backing...
If you can get some metal or bent/scrap body parts from a shop, try your paint choice and develop your technique a bit before doing the truck. The undercarriage is a pain but mistakes are usually well-hidden. Flaws on the body are much more visible.

"...I know the color scheme will horrify some of you..."
Oh - not me! I seem to remember my mother having a kitchen table cloth that was very close to that.:smile:

"...What about the porch and patio paint that someone mentioned?? Are there any advantages to Porch and Patio paint over regular exterior Latex house paint?..."
That was me. I rolled my bed floor and sides with it. No hint it wasn't sprayed. Great flow, no Floetrol. This report is since...
Y'all nailed it. It's not the brakes. If I tapped the brake 12 times from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., I'd be surprised.
We not only made the run out and back (40 mi each way), but I did 7 rides through the park grounds running about 10 - 15 mins each. All slow/low range, but pretty constant...
"...Look for the thread titled "Axle seal quality". It's a follow on to a prior thread titled "Hot hubs..."
Read both a couple of times. Lotsa stuff. Here they are for anybody looking for them:
http://www.steelsoldiers.com/deuce/58049-axle-seal-quality.html and...
"...Did you replace the outer wheel seal?. If you did, I've found that some of the crappy Newstar seals actually put pressure on the outer wheel bearing. Thus causing it to drag and causing a hot hub. Gringeltaube has a write up on this I believe..." wsucougarx
I'm still going through the...
GREAT! Another guy in the neighborhood. Today's run was down 17 to Highland Cross and back. Drop me a note so we can get in touch. It's on the road at least every couple of weeks for a joyride at least and for the next 2 months, weekly for events.
And I trust you're coming up to MTA in...
"...The brake shoes should NOT have been "washed" in brake?? fluid! and petrol..."
Typo: I meant brake cleaner not brake fluid. I actually read thru quite a few threads here and elsewhere and while I found disagreement, there were plenty of endorsements for both as Dot5 brake shoe solvents...
