Mine came with that newer style M-series control. I actually thought about replacing it with the Signal-stat model because I found them (somewhere) and they were the older model that supposedly was the original retrofit to install turn signals. A friend talked me out of it because of a list of...
Thanks to all in this old thread. It deserves a bump. After having a pre-Super Bowl wailing party on it for 2+ fruitless hours last weekend, the couple of tips and the video will make a difference in my attack. Now I actually look forward to this coming Saturday when I will take the ideas and...
Ah --- inside. I only wish. I'd be curious if you notice it outside with different angles of the sun. In the morning my truck looks brown. By noon, it's distinctly green.
I really hope you'll make it to Sussex. I think your truck would be a big hit.
Steve
Your endorsement of my formula pleases me no end. Thanks.:jumpin:
Have you noticed it changing hue from brownish <-> greenish depending on the light?
Steve
I can't see why a bobbed truck wouldn't be welcome. Just don't expect to win the concours award.
If you're real self conscious about it, watch for the show announcement thread to pop up and ask there. Tell them to blame me.
Steve
KCollum: Very nicely done. I'm guessing that you painted the cargo cover. If so, what did you use? I'm guessing it's a green vinyl with black (???) and tan touchovers.
I hope you're planning on bringing it to the MTA show in Sussex NJ in April. It would be a very nice addition to the...
Thanks. These are the types of examples I was looking for in order to anticipate failure points. Interestingly, there are very few I've found where the hitch pin fails to the point of letting go. The question in my mind wasn't the value of chains but the kinds of failures. The unlocked...
I've spent quite a bit of time over the weekend looking up safety chain topics here and on Google. I found quite a few accident reports where the chains did or would have improved things. However, all were with ball hitches where the trailer wasn't properly seated, the locking mechanisms...
Gotta credit Wheelspinner with the RV step idea. I just found the pi'cher.
However, I've gotta retract in favor of a stirrup step. I looked at the step, then back at the truck picture above and thought, "OK. Now I'm up there. How in the DEVIL am I gonna retract the step."
One of these...
I dunnooo. I see plenty of rigs where the 1st step is within reason. The RV step sounds good. Key would be in thinking through mounting and the paint job.
It's a nice looking trailer. A 416 just went around here for $675 - painted and all but when you got up to it you could see lots of dings in the tub. They do command a price. And a decent 101 without the racks, bows or tarp and non-OD paint job will be well north of that.
I'm wondering about...
The other LM105 thread is at http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?101080-LM-105-Shelter-Trailer
Neat. Seems like it might be tall for either a 135 or 211. Wonder what else might have towed it.
Steve
For giggles I went to CL and tried to guess the right search listing for your area of 'Central Florida'. If it's any consolation, your prices and conditions down there aren't any worse than ours up here. Unless you find a great deal, they've gone up in price. Nevertheless, the extra couple of...
I use my Econoline to move mine around so went the opposite direction. I have a 12" riser adapter so just yesterday I went to the local structural steel shop and had a 16" plain riser plate made of equivalent material with the same hole pattern. It will be bolted into the top 3 (vertical)...
