Suprman, I haven't even tried to plug it in since I don't know how it operates and I haven't got to the TM yet either. I am still in check out mode. I do remember reading not to plug it in when the switch is on if I remember correct. Thanks for any advice in advance.
The CTIS is unplugged in the cab and I am not up to speed on that end, can someone point me in the right direction as to how to research it. I was wondering why does it need all that electronic junk, could a regulator be installed in the main controllers place and just dial it in to what...
Thanks Guy's for all the nice comments. Warthog, I paid for the batteries in full and gave Uncle a nice tip and he gave me the truck! The speedo shows 115-- and the hour meter shows 533. Tim, Doug you'll need to stop by and check it out, it would be good to see you'll and chat a bit. zguinness...
Thanks, Jeff and I are good friends. I hope! He is a super good guy. I like the 932 but I also like the quietness of the 8.3 and I am hoping to gain more MPG's with the switch.
Wen I was checking the truck out I noticed that the starter, the alternator, oil cooler and the timing cover were all stamped with the same number, WHY? Could this be a rebuild without the MWO triangle put on? The truck is super overall condition, the seats appear to be new, the batteries appear...
I won this BMY 923 on the 22nd from Shelby on a wim without a preview. I studied the pics and the video at least 20 times, since I am very short of funds I waited till the last minute to make a final bid. To be quite honest I was not feeling so well so I laid down on the couch about 2:45 and...
My son bought a A2 for the bed and the metal cover on the bed. I recovered it for him and it drove so good on the way home I decided I needed the motor. We plan on parting the truck anyway so I guess the 250 will be sold instead of the 8.3. Driving it home it seemed to be a lot quieter than the...
I have a M932A1 and a M923A2, the A2 has a lot of rust and the cab is in bad shape. I also have a concern with the year of the A2 it does not qualify for Antique tags as does the A1. I plan on swapping motor and trans. Since I have the donor truck the brackets and shafts are no problem. I wanted...
I am wanting to swap motors in the 939 series! After doing some research the weight difference in weight of the motors is about 1200 pounds, the 6CTA8.3 is lighter.
Tony is first class in my book, he has been helping me for years now! I previewed some trucks a couple weeks ago and he stayed with me the whole time helping me start the trucks, opening the hoods and any thing I requested help with. I also want to thank the others that work with him on the base...
Has anyone remove the Cummins NHC250 and installed the 6CTA8.3 in its place? I put 2 of my trucks side by side to look at the difference between mounts on the 2 trucks and they are totally different. The transmissions are supposed to be the same in both A1 and A2's with the drive shaft longer on...
I did the same as post #3, I checked with the back of my fingers and could hold them there for a little while when the guage was reading 275. I then got a IR gun and checked it in several spots and the IR gun said 165. Changed the sender unit and bam it read 168 or so. Good Luck.
Awesome trip! That trip was one not too many would tackle without some sort of backup. Glad it worked for you. I have two questions though. Why did you make the trip so quick, the other thing is what would you do different if you had to do it again? And yes your wife get the iron butt award...
