What do people do when they rebuild these engines? Reuse the bolts again after they have been reused who knows how many times already? Is there even a reliable source for n.o.s rod bolts for these? If not there surely must be another engine that uses compatible rod bolts.
Yes, welcome. And be very careful offroad without a winch, you will find the soft ground no matter how long ago it may have rained. Also keep your thumbs outside of the steering wheel. Possibly wear gloves to avoid steering wheel burns. No joke.
That sounds about par for the course WM. just figured it was worth posing the question. I dream about being able to buy the tank that sits in my town's park rusting away. If the city owns it that may be possible, but I doubt it will ever happen. I know there are people who own M113s as well, but...
Just fix it right. If you break the clutch lever you will have to buy a new one and take it apart to fix it anyway, so just save yourself the trouble of having to buy a new lever.
Idk wreckerman, that would be more economical but part of the draw for me is having a vehicle that is heavy, cool looking, and most of all bulletproof.
I only wonder how a private citizen would go about purchasing one of these monsters? Or even an M60 tank from the government. Can it be done if you aren't a millionaire?
You don't want to use high frequency welding methods on that. Just solder it, or replace it. It will probably give you trouble of one kind or another until you do.
Mine smokes white when cold, kinda bluish when idling, and still blue but a lot more smoke when I leave a stoplight I've been sitting at for a while under heavy throttle. Smoke is good, it means the motor is still running.... Haha
Sounds like it is just out of adjustment on that side to me, as in adjusted tighter than the rest. Still though, if you have never had it apart, go ahead and tear it down and inspect and do some maintenance.
Those are the kind of people that need to loose something very important or dear to them just to bring them back to earth. Not advocating murder here, don't get me wrong, but people like that need to be punished harshly. Things like that are getting way too commonplace and spreading to places...
Mine is leaking from one of the line fittings. Can't get to it with the other lines attached without a crows foot wrench, so I have to remove a couple of lines. Only leaks when it gets hot though.
