Was looking at that fitting the other day and thinking about doing that to mine, but was sure my pump was toast and didn't want to lose prime so I left it be.
That sucks. I was hoping it would be a simple fix for him. Well, simple being a relative term here. Even an in tank pump swap should be exceedingly easy here.
Roger that. I figured it would pull fuel by itself just fine, didn't think about cavitation. Was just stating what was happening with my truck and a non functioning in tank pump.
If you are getting foamy fuel with the engine running then you have a line sucking air somewhere. My in tank pump does not work, but if I crank it up with the secondary filter air bleed screw open I get a solid geyser of fuel about a foot tall. I know this because I did this all including...
Well yeah it's just a deuce, but that doesn't mean you can't polish up the ol' turd. And just to be clear, I used flex seal and it works ok. If I were to do it again I would use a product made for the specific application. Purpose built products will work a ton better and they aren't that...
Mount it up, or find a way to mock it up to see how it looks. If it looks like crap just take it back off. I'm kinda curious to see what it looks like.
I have 17 of these trucks in my yard right now. Every one of them I drove about 100 mile home from where I got them over the past couple weeks. Almost all of them have that jumpy feeling when they shift. It seems to be suspension/driveline flex upon shifting that causes that. Only problem I've...
Just leave it alone if it only has 2000 miles on it. And when you do change it go back with 15w40, like everyone keeps telling you. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I assume you used a product similar to dynamat to do the firewall, I used some rubberized spray coating to do the engine bay side of my firewall ( flexseal) and put it on thick. Works pretty well and looks good, cleans up of oil easily. No reason you couldn't do the inside of the whole engine...
Yep. My in tank pump has started working intermittently and now mine starts this way some mornings. Just bleed the air and it'll save you some injector pump life.
