Well, guess it isn't ALL the cats fault. I was gonna re Canvac it this next summer. Guess he decided he didn't wanna smell like new canvas! It has been on the truck for 3 or 4 years now, too weathered to sew. Bad news is it's gonna start raining here in a few weeks. Gotta get ready for Dirt Bag!!!
OK, so we are getting ready to leave for the new years dez trip, I decide to take some stuff outa the deuce and lock it up since we will be gone for 4 days, as will the neighbors. I grab the stuff I want not there, and go back into the garage. On the way back out to the truck, my cat, Simba...
Could be anywhere. Start at the battery to frame and go from there. It sounds like it might be the control box on the drivers side fender.
Also, there is a CAD drawing of the deuce here somewhere....
FOUND IT...search ACTUALLY worked...
I got them too. I had issues with the pot metal goodies that mount on the wiper motor shaft, but I called Jay and he made it good. They work great now.
If you have an 818, you have an 855...no injector lines to crack. Does it miss at start up? The N/A 855's do have a rattling sound on acceleration. You say you see unburnt fuel out the pipe. What color is it?
I had a sprag...HAD is the key word. It worked, but not 'till you were well on the way to being stuck. I swapped it out for an air shift. If you have the talent to repair your t-case, you can swap them out. It is less than a days work.
That should be posted as a sticky!! Good visuals.
My fender is cut and the truck still has all the mounts and straps on the bottom side for the N/A exhaust. It is a 1968.
The "C" and "D" are most common. I have seen 2 others on deuces, but only one time each. The C and D look similar, the other 2 I saw had a compressor housing that was not rounded, they were kinda squared off and IIRC one was wastegated. I'll look around for some pics.
There IS a company that has both the twin and single compressors rebuilt and ready to go and has parts. I have it on the puter at work. Monday, I will fwd it to myself at home and post a link. IIRC, they are in Washington?
The disc needs to be in the correct spot. If your repair put it so it isn't covering the bypass completely, you will have the same issue. As for the smoke, white/grey can be cold operation, low fuel pressure, air in the system. black can be an air flow restriction or the injectors in need of...
It is this black stuff...aluminum oxide? I have a few packages of it with the NSN on it. To apply it you mask the area you want coated, mix it with primer or the color paint you want to use and brush it on. After it dries, you can paint right over it. It is VERY durable but hurts my butt when I...
Yes they do belong together. The disc is part of the stat. There are 2 loops in a diesel cooling system, block or bypass loop and radiator loop. When the engine is cold, the coolant is pushed through the block loop and does not go through the radiaror...some part of the circulating coolant goes...
Did a bunch of work yesterday. Didn't take alot of pics 'cause I forgot and was busy. Got the brakes on, re packed the bearings on the drive and idler, got both of them put together and installed. Got the brakes adjusted and track on! :jumpin:
Lemme tell you, that track was a biatch...
